We have had the similar High Sierra large duffel roller bags for about eight or 10 years. Loved them. So after many trips, they were getting a bit worn and we decided to replace. I went back to High Sierra. And bought a very similar bag, unfortunately our original bags for no longer available. This bag constantly falls over. It is tall, narrow and high. Every bump I hit...it falls over. Very frustrating. I bought four but I will return the other three. I can't imagine that there was thorough user testing on this design. And by the way, my bag weighed 38 pounds. Far below the maximum, so it was not overpacked.

Bad ziper

We bought 2 of those bags last October and we were really happy of them - at the beginning. Alreday after flying the first time, I could barely open the ziper anymore. After the 2 second flight, it could open it, but it was broken as you can see it on the photo and needed to sew it to reclose it. My huseband starts having the same problem. The size is perfect and easy to handle. Only the ziper…..

Finally had to replace my fabulous High Sierra rolling duffle after 20 years. The corners had become worn through from contact with sidewalks. This bag will definitely not last that long. The quality is no longer there. The sides gape and the bag tips over when pulling. It only has one small end external pockets the previous bag had 2 fabulous large end pockets, but it does have a lower and upper section which is an improvement on the previous which only had one main compartment. The size at 28" is just a tad small compared to my last one at 30" and it is quite a bit narrower. It is a fair bag but nothing like its predecessor.

Not near the quality of previous High Sierra bags I have owned, the material quality along with functionality have significantly decreased. Bag will not stand on end and they have eliminated several options that used make their product stand out such as expandability, stash pockets, backpack option, durability, wheels, etc. 2 stars might be generous compared to previous products.

I've had mine for 15+ years and it still works great. I love the 2 separated areas so you can put shoes and bigger items down below. These are just amazing durable bags and excellent prices!
Perfect in-between size. Durable. Great design.

The design of a zippered lower half for clothing items and upper duffel half (with extra zippered compartment) is awesome. It makes it easy to organize your items by type with folded clothes on the bottom (with zippered access) and shoes, recreational and bulky items in the duffel top. The small zippered compartment works well for storing jacket, cap, etc. While you can't take this with you onto the plane, it is perfect for check-in on an in-between trip, where you need extra clothing, etc that exceeds capacity of a smaller bag. The wheels are solid roller blade style. I've had a similar High Sierra bag for 15 years that only recently developed a wheel problem. Had no problems with the heavy duty zippers. The inner material and handle seem to be built to similar standards. Wish it had side handles in addition to top and end handle, but that's only suggestion. I just love the design! I can pack snorkel, fins, shoes in the duffel and know I can easily get to all my folded clothes in lower compartment without disturbing the upper area.

We’ve used High Sierra rolling duffels for travel, mostly ski trips, for over a decade. They are sturdy, economical, and work very for our purposes. This drop-bottom type is our favorite.

Perfect size for my tennis racquets, plus plenty of room for a week's vacation. But not so big it is unwieldy to move around the airport and check. Seems sturdy - time will tell.
Disappointed over smaller size!

I had the previous version of this bag and loved it!! Somehow, it was the perfect size for every cruise/trip. It withstood lots but finally - after many, many travels, a wheel broke and it tore at seams and was dirty so I wanted to buy a new one - I wanted the same bag. I am so disappointed - this newer version is much smaller and does not work for me. I returned it!

When I first got this bag I was excited, looked great in the photos and a replacement for my old High Sierra that went around the world three times. But I have grown to absolutely hate this bag for one simple reason. It will not stand up! You will be forever at airports, hotels, train stations looking for a place to lean your bag, and you will cuss up a storm on the 100th time you expect the bag to stand up and it falls over in a lane of people walking. Good concept in this bag, horrible execution. Keep shopping.

We had an older style of this bag for at least ten years and used it a TON. Eventually the seams started to show some wear so we ordered this replacement because it’s our favorite bag. It came faster than I expected, was well packaged, and I’m very happy with it.

Upon receiving our new bag I am pleasantly surprised in the overall design and aesthetics of this bag. The attention to detail and finishing was better than expected. This is our first time owning a High Sierra bag. I was instantly impressed and felt confident in our decision to purchase this bag. The materials seem to be much better quality than the majority of its competitors, based on the many reviews that I have read. I love the hexagonal-textured fabric material on the outside and the geometric patterned on the inside. The extension handle is custom made for this brand and not the cheap run of the mill generic material and design of cheaper bags. This bag looks and feels like it costs more than it does. This bag is a great value and I expect it to last for quite a long time.

Purchased as a replacement for my beloved High Sierra Drop Bottom Duffel that was my go to bag for approx. 10 yrs. Was still in great shape and going strong, until my cat decided to use it as a litterbox. When I went to order a replacement, the first thing I noticed was that the hidden back pack straps are gone. Not a feature I used frequently, but they did come in handy on occasion and will be missed. Multiple positive experiences with High Sierra bags so decided to purchase anyway. Unfortunately, this new version of the the duffle has overall lower features and quality. The top "lid" portion of the duffle previously had thicker, structured sides but now is just a floppy bag. There is no expansion zipper. The compression straps are half the width and less substantial material (very cheap feel and don't seem to hold well.) May have overlooked all of the above, but the bag itself is also substantially more narrow. Very obviously not going the fit the clothing and gear I placed in the older version. The only positive of the new design is that it is lighter weight than my old duffle, but since that is apparently due to decreased features, fabric quality, and space it isn't worth the trade off. I have used various High Sierra bags for years, and my daughter has had her High Sierra school backpack for 3 years-- this is the first time I have been disappointed in a High Sierra product. Hope this newest purchase isn't indicative of where the brand is headed.
