@bookquoth “You don’t need to be special or significant to have value. You’re just important, always, and people either see that or they don’t.” 🏕💕 I had a bit of a hard time getting into this one. It was cute, but I just didn’t feel the connection to the characters like I experienced in the Brown sisters series. I’m not sure if it was because it was YA or not, but something was missing for me. There were some funny moments, due to Hibbert’s great sense of humor, and there were really important topics weaved throughout (parent abandonment and OCD). I found it really compelling that Hibbert kind of channeled her own diagnosis into Bradley, and that this was probably a therapeutic experience for her. Love that. 🏕💕 The premise was fine. Two high school enemies, that used to be best friends when they were younger, are now forced to work together in a survival course / scholarship program. I actually wish more of the course appeared in the book. I feel like I didn’t get enough from that.
