Breakouts/itchiness within 24 hours of use
Within 24 hours of applying this to my face I developed red bumps all over my cheeks that were itchy. The breakout took 5 days to clear! I really thought this would be amazing due to the minimal ingredients but instead destroyed my skin. The cream also never really absorbs but sits on your skin rather. Sensitive people beware of this cream!

I had high hopes, but it sort of fell flat
I was really excited to try this gel cream from Honest as I love their clean products, but I wasn't thrilled with the texture. It started out as an extremely thick cream when first applied, but as I continued to rub it in, it turned into a slick, watery consistency. I've never used a cream that had such an odd change of consistency. It was completely unscented which was refreshing and I did find that it hydrated pretty well. I was left with a slight sticky sheen but it normally soaked in and evened out after about 10 minutes. In terms of clean beauty, this could still be one of the better options, but I will definitely continue my search to see if I can find something better.

Disappointed
I used to really like this cream for when my skin was more dry than usual but with my last purchase it completely dried out my skin. I woke up with itchy, burning flakey skin around my eyes and cheeks. The texture is really thick and didn’t seem to blend in like it did before.

I was actually so excited when I picked this up at target. I tried it that same night and boy was I disappointed. I have super dry skin and thicker creams usually work best for me but this was just too much. Felt like I rubbed butter or straight oil onto my face. It didn't sink in and just sat on top of my face like a greasy film. I had to wash it off and I ended up returning it soon after.

Not so honest
I love this product this was my second time buying but unfortunately this will be the last time I buy it. For the price point it’s not fair getting the product half way empty already. The packaging was completely sealed yet it’s half way gone.

Although visually the product looks as though it is not filled to the top, we do rigorous testing to ensure that the product fill matches the promised fill weight on the product and product page. You may notice a small amount of space at the top of this container, where the product hasn’t been filled to the brim. This is necessary to keep it from spilling into the seal and slowing production. We fill the containers with the amount of product advertised, and account for this space by creating a slightly larger container. Rest assured, you’re getting what you’ve paid for! Like others have said, this broke me out in a rash and I had to see a dermatologist to get cortisone. It works ok for my husband though.

Don't do it!
Hard pass. Immediately broke out in a red, raised rash after using this one time. It’s been over 24 hours and no sign of the rash fading yet. My skin is hot to the touch and sore as if it’s been burned.

This cream has a weird watery feeling while applying that left me greasy looking. My face then broke out all over and I don't have acne prone skin at all. As soon as I stopped using it my face cleaned up again. This crap is going in the trash. What a waste of money.

Very Oily
Feels great going on but it leaves a very oily sheen on my skin even after rubbing it in well. Didn’t use it long enough to notice any other changes.

Very thick
This is much thicker than what I was hoping for. Based on the name (hydrogel) I was expecting a much lighter consistency. It feels sticky and oily on my skin. I will probably tuck it away and use it as a nighttime moisturizer in the winter. I wanted to love this like I do many other honest products but it’s just not for me. I wouldn’t purchase again.

Jar half empty, product thick and sticky :(
The constancy changed on this product to thick and tacky. I broke out halfway through the day and I do not typically have acne aside from a chin pimple close to my cycle. These were on my cheeks, will not buy again. Also-container was half empty when I opened it. And half the size of what it was a couple years back!?

Literally the worst thing ever
Okay so I don’t normally write reviews unless they are either super good or super bad and this moisturizer was awful. Smelled disgusting and made me gag, the consistency was like the slime 9 year old me made. Also, it left a gross residue on my face the whole day and my hair was sticking to it. Strongly advise against using this unless you have skin drier than the sahara desert.

Awesome packaging/refill options, but terrible product
I really wanted to like this moisturizer because I love the idea of the refill pods (minimizing plastic packaging is really important to me). Like many other one-star reviewers, I found this moisturizer to be extremely heavy, with an unpleasant texture that doesn’t absorb well. It’s also caused me to break out (both surface-level and deep, painful zits), which hasn’t happened to me in years. This is honestly one of the worst skin care products I’ve ever tried. I can’t recommend it at all.

No good!
I love Honest beauty, I use several other Honest products so for me trying this moisturizer was a no brainer. However after using this for a few weeks, I realized this one is no good. It’s very very thick so applying it is hard. It doesn’t really rub in and absorb like a moisturizer should. It makes my face shiny, and not in a good glowy way, and doesn’t ever feel or look like it’s sunken in. Secondly, it doesn’t perform well under makeup. I have a few different foundations I cycle through and each one of them looks very different when I use it over this moisturizer. This cream makes the foundation separate and blend unevenly. Overall I am bumbed this won’t work for me because I love honest, and the ingredients in this cream seemed promising. But the texture just doesn’t work.
