Q: We have noticed the same thing - wondering what other cars can be used? None of our other hot wheels cars work with this track - only the one car thats included.

A: The smaller, skinner type of cars will, but they don't have a certain type. It was a bummer when literally almost 30 cars didn't work.

Q: Which specific hot wheels cars can I get that will make it around this track? The same kind as the one that was included? My sons tested at least 10 that we already have and they are all seemingly too heavy.

This was a 3rd birthday gift for my son. He loves to play with it, but it’s very frustrating because not once has any car gotten through the whole track, including the car that came with it. Normally, we won’t even get the car to go from the launch area the whole way to the top. They hit the green track and fall off. I even went on a best for loops and track car buying spree. It doesn’t matter what car it is, it doesn’t work.

Just bought this for our son’s 6th birthday. Easy to put together but even the car that came with the track only makes it to the apex of loop 3 and consistently falls off at this point as it has insufficient speed to continue. Needless to say the other hot wheels cars we have don’t even make it to loop 3. We are using brand new alkali batteries and the light low profile car that came in the box. The track is free of obstruction and correctly constructed.

Maybe 1 out of 30 cars actually works on this track. It was assembled correctly. Assembly was checked and double checked, even special hot wheels cars ones bought for stunt tracks still did not function. This is bad design waste of money.

This is such a waste of plastic. It shouldn't be in production and should never have made it into production. Mattel should be ashamed of themselves. We received it as a gift, it's never once worked with the car it comes with or the 100 or so other cars my son owns, most of which are hotwheels. I've read plenty of other scathing reviews that have said its dissapointed children and parents. It's also not safe as it spits out cars from all directions and it should have a guard on it to prevent fingers touching the spinners which have hurt my sons finger. I would put no stars if I could.

I bought this so my son could use his 40+ HW cars on it. Turns out most HW cars DO NOT work - they can't make it through the loops. I know because I had to try everyone and watch them fail. This toy comes with one car which worked on the first play, but then stopped making it all the way through the loops. This is now a mostly useless heap of plastic. What a huge disappointment.

Do not spend your money on this. When we first used it only kind of worked and only with the one car it came with. After a few weeks it stopped working even after new batteries and cleaning.

Garbage. I have tried over 100 different cars and only a few of my cars from the 90s work half the time. Not one of the kids new cars even make it passed the 2nd loop. Super disappointing

It’s great for about the 3 minutes the batteries are strong enough to get the ONE car it came with. No other cars will go around and the batteries drain QUICK. We’ve spent so much money on batteries. Not worth it. My son loves it but can’t play with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic toy and made a perfect Christmas present. Although it is aimed at ages 5+, my toddler had no issues with playing with it, and it provided hours of fun! The instructions were clear and concise and easy enough for one person to put together. One of the downsides is that the batteries required are very specific (4 x D) and not something you would tend to have within your home, so these had to be purchased separately (noticed after building!) Also, the toy folds down so is great for saving space, but is however, still quite large. Overall, I am very pleased with this toy and will no doubt be used throughout many more years to come!

Ahhhh I should have read the reviews!!! Literally 10 mins of play and now the cars won’t make it around anymore. Spent so much on new batteries thinking ours were faulty until I read the reviews. Such a bummer. It’s getting returned in the morning

Like nearly everybody has said, this track is garbage. We have about three cars out of hundreds that will get around some of the time. Very disappointing for the price point.

This thing is so disappointing. Only a few cars work on it and it only goes around a few times before it just won’t make the loops anymore. My son was so excited about it and so were we but we do not recommend.

It is awful that Mattel does not stand behind there products. My son wanted this track as a Christmas present, it works great with the one car it comes it, but so far spent $50 on multiple packs of Trackmaster cars that were recommended to work in Q and A, and none work, even one that is identical to the car it came with. This track is absolute garbage.
