This is the kind of book (and there are a lot of them out there) that does really well because it's touching and sentimental for adults. Kids could care less, and my kids never pick this book. There is no story to it, just "i wish you more x than y". My five year old will give me a blank stare when it's over, like "what was the point of that?"
Beautiful book, illustrations and message combined. I love this author-illustrator team! The language is simple, memorable, and really instills the values I think are most important, like sacrificial sharing, friendship, courage, adventure, and teamwork. It's also witty. I love reading this to my kids, and give it often at baby showers!!
