Are these as good as freshly made mashed potatoes from whole potatoes? No. But for what they are, they are really good, and I love that they don't have gluten or dairy. I have a chronic and debilitating illness, and most days I don't have the time or energy to peel, cut, boil, and mash whole potatoes. I'll continue to buy these. (And btw, I make them with earth balance "butter" and Oatly original oat milk!)

Good for inexpensive and easy to make mashed potatoes. Won’t match homemade from fresh potatoes, but these taste just fine if you have realistic expectations. I just add seasonings and chives or parsley for a quick and nice side dish, and always keep a box in my pantry.

I know, it’s boxed potatoes and all, but my potato-loving food allergy son can actually eat these!!! He really likes them. So easy to make and you can add seasoning to your taste. Great if you don’t have time to make homemade. We use water, salt, garlic, and his dairy free “butter” and it tastes great! We don’t even need to add any milk substitute.

These were actually surprisingly decent for instant mashed potatoes. One thing I would say is ignore the amount of potato flakes it calls for in the recipe. Slowly stir in flakes until you reach the thickness and consistency you're wanting. For me, it was almost twice as much as the recipe called for. Another hack is to add some crumbles of bullion to the water for added flavor.
