A: Technically not antibacterial. Though, the US FDA found 0 evidence of antibacterial soaps better at preventing illness than plain soap and water. Antibac soap can actually be worse long term.

Q: Does this Ivory have ANY kind of fragrance? Long ago, it came that way, but it's harder and harder to find any unscented or fragrance-free beauty products.

A: Our Ivory Gentle Bar Soap Original has the original scent. In the beauty care industry, we use two specific terms to help consumers find the right products to use, unscented and fragrance-free. Unscented products may contain a light scent to mask the natural odor of the ingredients in the formula. These ingredients do not have a pleasant smell, which is why it's necessary to add a very small amount of light fragrance to make the product more enjoyable to use. Fragrance-free products do not contain any added fragrance.

Q: The ten bar package I have at home shows 4X MORE/PLUS in the upper left. But in the store I saw a pack of fewer bars with 2.5X and another, I think with 3 or 3.5 X. Explain this on the package!

A: For our Ivory Original Bar Soap 10pk we offer 3.17 ox bars and 4.0 oz bars. The package that states 4X MORE are our 4.0 oz bars.

THEY CHANGED IT!! :(
For years, I bought Ivory soap in bulk and a couple of months ago, I used up my last bar. Upon reordering, I noticed that the packaging had changed. It said "Original Scent", but not original formula. The soap is much heavier and glossy and an all-together different soap. WHY, oh WHY change a product that has been the same for more than a century, which we all loved just the way it was? If the ingredients are now more expensive, just raise the price of the soap--don't change it! I grew up using Ivory soap as a child. The only soap my mom ever bought. I have used this soap my whole life and bathed my own children with it. There is no substitute. I have been trying all different soaps, but there is nothing like the original Ivory formula. PLEASE BRING BACK ORIGINAL FORMULA, which we have loved and trusted for a lifetime. I'm so sad!

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, the Ivory Bar Soap has undergone a formula change. The new Ivory Bar Soap is now made with plant-based cleansers, which means it no longer contains animal-based cleansers. This change was made to improve the product while still maintaining its iconic Original Scent and soothing notes of Aloe. Here are some key points regarding the formula change: - The new formula still generates good lather and is gentle on the skin. - The bar is now 99.44/100% pure (Original Scent only), even though it no longer floats. - The change to a plant-based formula may result in a different scent due to the use of new ingredients derived from natural sources. - The new bars are smaller than the old bars due to a process change that impacted the density of the product, but the weight remains the same, ensuring the same great performance. It caused me allergic reactions after using it this time. Also, it smells so bad and was so different from what I used before. I have been using Ivory for a few years and never had any issues with it. This was the first time.

There were plenty of bars so it's perfect for a family or even could be used for things such as airbnbs because they're individually wrapped. The smell is nice but not overwhelming. It lathers quite nicely and doesn't leave a residue when rinsing off!

Simple soap but dried my skin out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t mind this soap by ivory it says it’s gentle on skin but I did find it to dry my skin out a little and didn’t really keep it moisturized like their oatmeal one. I wouldn’t buy again but if you’re looking for something to really clean your skin if it gets oily you might prefer it better .

There’s more than one use for IVORY

I mean it’s a BAR OF SOAP so what do you want me to say storage very very small package for 12 bars of soap and you don’t throw soap away it just disappears when it’s gone if you’ve never tried IVORY soap, you have to try it!! look up all the different things you can use it for. I couldn’t tell you this post is already entirely too long.

Great gentle bar soap!

When I received the Ivory Gentle Bar soap I was skeptical but looking forward to trying it. I feel like the soap lasts a decent amount of time, has a great smell, and doesn’t dry out my skin.
