Doesn’t even taste like matcha, just a very unpleasant artificial vanilla flavor. Low quality, gives me a headache. Don’t buy.

I typically buy the Tazo matcha concentrate but I wanted to try a powder to save on limited fridge space. This was pretty disgusting. It didn’t have any matcha flavor, just overwhelming artificial vanilla with the taste and texture of melted ice cream. Would definitely pass on this.

I’m really not too picky about matcha, but this was gross. Didn’t taste the matcha at all, just an overpowering artificial vanilla flavor (kind of similar to a bad protein powder). Didn’t drink any of it and tossed the rest of the package. Don’t waste your money on this one, just get regular matcha and add your own vanilla simple syrup.

The consistency is definitely not traditional, it’s best made in a shaker bottle with almond milk. It has clear sugar like crystals in it which I’m assuming is the vanilla inclusion and although I’m sure it isn’t, it gives it a synthetic taste. On the bright side, you likely won’t need to add sweetener to your matcha.

I’ve always gone with the original, but opted to try something new. I’ll be blunt, this is gross lol I’m so tempted to not throw it away because it’s pricey, but I just cannot get past the strange taste. I’ll 100% go back to basics of buying the original & adding a hint of vanilla bean from now on.

its hard to get past (passed? lol) the vanilla flavor and smell. it was too expensive to throw away but it's not good lol next time i'll go with the original, that one seems to have better reviews.

I am a die-hard fan of this brand (the original flavor), but the vanilla flavor?! It's disgusting. I tried it and threw it away so I don't ever have to look at it again

To preface this, I LOVE the Jade Leaf matcha, both the culinary grade and regular sweetened types. But this vanilla one is NOT it. I wanted to try this to replicate the matcha iced latte I get at Starbucks with pumps of vanilla. Unfortunately, the vanilla flavoring is ULTRA FAKE and completely overpowers the matcha. I love sweet drinks too, but it was so unbearably sweet that it made me gag! I couldn't put less matcha in it either, because then I'd just be drinking vanilla milk with a hint of matcha since it's not the strongest anyways. This fake vanilla smell even LINGERED in my cup and shaker after I dumped it out! So gross!!! P.S: If you want vanilla flavoring in your matcha, use the regular jade leaf matcha and add Torani vanilla syrup yourself. So much better!!! (And you can control the sweetness to your liking.)
