Q: Do these use bone conduction technology?

submitted by JR - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi JR, thanks for reaching out about JBL Endurance Peak 3 True Wireless Bluetooth - Black. These earbuds do not use bone conduction. Bone conduction headphones are not inserted inside the ear and rest on the very outside of your ear. Here is an example of headphones that use bone conduction with pictures to better show the difference: https://www.target.com/p/aiwa-bone-conduction-wireless-headphone/-/A-89270597 If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Are these noise cancelling?

submitted by VL - 9 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. Our JBL Endurance Peak 3 has an Ambient Aware feature that lets you stay alert to your surroundings without removing your headphones. It doesn't have a Noise Cancelling feature but you might want to check our JBL Tune 130NC TWS which has both features.

I was convinced I was going to love these but even with the smallest ear grommets, they still don't fit into my ear. They have great features, and yes they're beautiful, I just wish I could get them to fit properly!

Need a easier to open charging case

I just bought these and really like the sound from them. The case however is making me mad. It's made of hard plastic and is so slippery and hard to open because it doesn't have like a lip on the top door to easily lift open so you have to use your finger nail and if you don't have a good grip on the case it'll slip out of your hands and go flying across the room. I've dropped the darn thing several times already when I'm trying to get the earbuds out.

Could have been great Gesture Feature glitching

1 out of 5 stars
originally posted on jbl.com
Loved them however, the gesture settings kept constantly turning ambient noise on and off via the left ear, and via the right ear kept randomly pausing and starting music, No problem ill just disable the gesture features, to do that you have to have the app, which will only work if you turn location on, on your phone. I disabled them but the gestures touch indication sound keeps beeping when it "senses" a touch even with the features off; I decided to ignore the beeps. Every now and then the left bud would unpair, and I'd have to put them back in the charging box to reset which is annoying when I want to keep my pockets empty at the gym, or both the left and right side would unpair at the same time and dump the settings that I changed in the app, then its back to the ambient on/off and pausing and stopping music all over again until I reboot the app and turn my location back on. Even after updating the firmware there was no change in performance. I will be returning these I don't recommend them at all.

Excellent sound app needs work.

Excellent sound but app could use work. Overall, the audio quality is clear, crisp and sound true w a bass response that thumps and the ability to fine tune the EQ with the app. Ambient noise setting works well though I believe your have to use the app to turn it on and off. I like the option to switch between audio and video settings which eliminates the delay when streaming video. They are also very comfortable and stay put although a little bulky but not too bad. The case is larger than I've ever seen and a little fumbly to open but shouldn't take away from the value. Would like a button or sensor to check battery life at command but alas. The app itself really needs to allow for more L/R function assignment options and the EQ although very customizable only comes w 3 standard settings. None of which are Rock, Electronic or Pop. Otherwise it's useful. Was a good buy

These did not work out of the box. Very low volume, compressed, no sound quality, app did not work. I tried over & over to get the headphones recognized by the app and idk what I did but it eventually connected and did a software update. It also required a reboot of my phone after pairing & updating. After that, they work & sound great as I would expect from JBL.

Regret Purchasing

Probably my least favorite headphones. They stay attached to my ears, but if I lay down (bench press, etc) they pull out just enough to severely affect sound quality. And when they are in they're uncomfortable no matter what size ear piece I use. Touch control buttons are frustratingly sensitive. Every time I would try to adjust (due to the aforementioned discomfort) they would either turn off or enable/disable ambient noise setting.
1 reply from Customer Support team - 4 months ago
We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback. Our JBL Endurance Peak 3 comes in different ear tip sizes that can help the headphones fit more comfortably. To fit the hook, gently twist the earbud as you push it into your ear until it sits at an angle, with the wing tip tucked into the outer ridge of your ear. You may also customize the gesture control in the JBL Headphones App to help with your unit's sensitivity issue. If you need further assistance, please get in touch with our Customer Support.

Good for exercising

I bought them recently, mainly to use when exercising. The sound is very good, I can even hear when on a UK bus (which can be quite noisy). I struggle sometimes to press the buttons correctly, but that is probably because I was using a different brand before (Jlab).

Great for training & running, but charging issues

4 out of 5 stars
Pickers - 4 months ago
originally posted on jbl.com
For training, these are probably the best I’ve tried. Sound quality is excellent, but equalizer needs tweaking as the preset options don’t get the best from the speakers. Battery life is brilliant. Been on a number of 10k runs, totally secure in ears and not uncomfortable at all. Seem to be totally sweat proof too. Ambient aware function is awful tbh, lets in far too much sound from surroundings, so I don’t use it. Charging is a bit inconsistent. The earphones need to sit exactly on the charging pins in the case, but they can sometimes move a little. Also the charging light on each earphone only blinks 3 times, so there is no way to tell for certain if they are actually still charging whilst in the case, and you can’t find out until you connect them back to the app.

The search continues...

The sound is good IF you can get a good consistent seal into your outer ear canal. As soon as you start moving around, the bud seal will fail and a large portion of the sound is lost, along with ambient sound control. We all move our face and outer ear muscles as we exercise, and despite trying different size buds and hook adjustments, I just could not get a proper consistent fit - I find myself constantly pushing the bud back into my ear canal for proper sound, but this only lasts a few seconds before dislodging again. It's worse under heavy sweating, especially in hot humid climates (ie. currently vacationing in Mexico). Also, the entire piece WILL fall out/off under heavy sweating while lying flat, eg. working core, flat bench press etc. The endless search for a perfect earbud continues....

We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve. We'll make sure to pass this along to our development team. Also, to fit the hook of our JBL Endurance Peak 3, you may try to gently twist the earbud as you push it into your ear until it sits at an angle, with the wing tip tucked into the outer ridge of your ear. If you need further assistance, you may contact our JBL Customer Support.

Power Button Placement Makes Headphones Unusable

1 out of 5 stars
LizMissesTheAUXJack - 5 months ago
originally posted on jbl.com
Listen the sound quality is fine, JBL always is, but the headphones are uncomfortable to wear with piercings and the power buttons' placement make them unusable in any configuration other than exactly snug over the ear even though they would fit facing forward instead. I looked at the pictures for so long before getting them to make sure I would be able to wear them forward with my earrings so finding out they won't work actually because of bad button design makes me fume. I just want headphones that pump music into my ear is that too much to ask?????!? Why do they have to do anything else?????? Why are there buttons at all to hit with my glasses or when I move my hair??????? On a side note, google tries to make me add them with the assistant EVERY time I connect to the bluetooth and it's really annoying. I just want tunes while I'm on the treadmill or typing at work, man leave me alone.

Not what I expected

I bought them about a month ago, but there are some seconds that always cut the bluetooth connection when I am listening to music or keep the cell phone in my pocket.
1 reply from Customer Support team - 5 months ago
We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Please know that Bluetooth, in a perfect environment, will perform well for up to 30 feet. However, walls, obstacles, and other wireless devices can impede that 30-foot range. If it works well at 10 feet or less, there is likely something interfering with your wireless Bluetooth signal, causing these dropouts. Here are troubleshooting steps that can help isolate the issue with your JBL Endurance Peak 3. First, forget/unpair the headphones on your device then perform manual pairing. Next, try to connect the headphones to a different device (phone/tablet/music player) to see if it fixes the problem. Last is reset, with both earbuds on, and not charging, tap two times and hold the button on the third tap for more than five seconds. If the issue remains, please know that our JBL Endurance Peak 3 comes with a one-year warranty. You may file a warranty claim on our official website or you may contact our Customer Support at (800) 336-4525 Mon - Fri: 9:00 am - 11:00 pm (EST) Sat-Sun: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (EST) for further assistance.

Hard to find the function buttons and left me inner ear black and blue!!
1 reply from JBL Support team - 5 months ago
Thanks for your feedback. We're here to help. To use the JBL Endurance Peak 3 gesture controls,. open the charging case lid to turn it on and place the earbuds in the case to turn it off. On the left earbud, a single tap can enable or disable ambient aware mode, lets you hear your surroundings without pausing your music. A double tap activates talk thru mode, lowering music volume and letting you chat with those around you without removing your earbuds. Tapping once and holding activates voice aware mode, allows you to hear your own voice during calls. On the right earbud, a single tap can play or pause audio, answer or end calls. Double tapping skips the track forward, while a triple tap skips to the previous track. By tapping once and holding, you can activate the voice assistant or mute and unmute the microphone during calls. These features offer easy and convenient ways to control the earbuds and personalize your listening experience. Advanced controls are also available through the JBL Headphones App.

For me, they were not worth the price they were asking for. They were hard to put around your ears. If you lose them, they do not have a finder. No noise control like it said. You don't know if they are truly charged. The calling does not work. Not very satisfied with this product.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We're sorry to hear that it didn't meet your expectations. We recommend trying different ear tip sizes that perfectly seal and fit into your ear. We'd like to know more about your inquiry and address it accordingly. I run in the gym - quite long runs, so I sweat like crazy. I also have really weird ears so I can't use anything in ear, it has to have a hook. Tried a whole bunch of cheap headphones and they all stopped working after a while. Eventually decided to go with the big guns and went for the Endurance Peak 3 - and these are the best ones I've had, like ever. I'm not super sophisticated when it comes to sound, and these are terrific, and strong sound too. Super comfy, having them turn on/off when I put them on or take them off is great.
