Great speaker
If I had to sum up: the JBL PartyBox 520 is a beast of a party speaker. It manages to deliver enough power to impress and enough clarity to satisfy when you're not just blasting it. It’s not perfect, especially if you expect perfection at every level, but it does most things very well. For me, the joy came from cranking it up with friends outside, watching how it reshapes a space with sound and light. It’s not subtle — it’s meant to be felt. If you value atmosphere, want something tough and loud and don’t mind paying for it, it’s hard to beat. If instead you need something more subtle, lighter, or cheaper, there are trade‑offs that might make a smaller model more practical. You’ll love it if: You throw parties often, indoors or out, and want something that feels like a centrepiece. You care about atmosphere: lights, rugged design, and the “wow” factor really matter. You want a speaker that’s flexible: mic/guitar inputs, replaceable battery, heavy duty enough for regular use. You don’t mind sacrificing some portability for power. If moving 25‑30kg is doable for you (or you mostly roll it around), the tradeoff is worth it. The lighting effects are a lot of fun. At night, they turn the speaker into an event by themselves. The front bars, strobes, the ambient LEDs – they add atmosphere. Not perfect for every scenario (won’t help your neighbours’s sleep), but when you want a party vibe, they deliver. he connectivity is solid. I liked having dual XLR/¼‑inch mic/guitar combo inputs – if you want to sing, plug in a mic, or throw in a guitar, or even use a mixer, it’s ready.
