JBL Party Box 520 Portable Party Speaker

I have many JBL products and The JBL partybox 520 is new addition to my collection. It's a fantastic product if you love outdoor parties and like quality sound. The JBL PartyBox 520 is also perfect for use at home, delivering an extraordinary musical experience for everyday use. There are so many choices of light patterns and if you are having a night party it just look super cool. It’s easy to connect to Bluetooth. Over all i would give this 10/10. JBL has never disappointed with their product.

This JBL party box is simply amazing. It’s super loud and the bass is great for a party! There is an extra hidden compartment to attach to mics and decks for really added impact. Perfect for any party or event. Would highly recommend! Only downside is it’s a little heavy.

This product is a great speaker if you want to rave and party! We have a warehouse so in there it works fantastic with the bass features and volume levels. The coloured lights are super fun and match the party vibe immensely. This product is super heavy but does have built in wheels and a handle. If you want to use this speaker at home the absolute most you'd be able to put it up to is 15% volume or it's simply too loud. Overall a great speaker and if you have the space definitely get it, but in a standard house it's not the best idea if you want to not anger your neighbours 😂

I’ve owned a few portable speakers over the years, but the JBL PartyBox 520 is on a completely different level. I bought it for an end-of-summer barbecue and it ended up stealing the show. Right out of the box, it looks bold and built to party—sturdy, flashy, and surprisingly easy to move around thanks to the wheels and telescopic handle. Yeah, it’s not small (and definitely not light), but it’s designed more like portable pro audio gear than a toss-in-your-backpack speaker. As for sound, all I can say is WOW. This thing is loud—like, “you can hear it down the street” loud. But it’s not just volume—the sound is full, clean, and deep. The bass hits hard without getting muddy, and the clarity stays intact all the way up the volume scale. Vocals are sharp, instruments are well separated, and nothing gets lost in the mix. The lightshow is a whole vibe on its own. It syncs with the music, and the patterns make the whole experience feel more dynamic and fun. It’s the kind of thing that gets people dancing, even if they weren’t planning to. Battery life was more than enough—I got about 8 hours at mid-high volume with the lights on. Plus, the fact that the battery is removable and replaceable is a huge bonus if you're planning longer events or outdoor sessions. Also, major props to JBL for including pro-level inputs. I connected a mic for some impromptu karaoke, and it handled it like a champ—no setup headaches, just plug in and go.

First impressions of the JBL Partybox 520 is that it makes a statement the moment I saw it – it’s big, solid, and built to last. Yes, it’s on the heavier side, but that weight reflects its impressive build quality. Thankfully, the sturdy wheels and convenient retractable handle made moving it around surprisingly easy. The audio is nothing short of incredible, with powerful sound and adjustable bass options to suit any mood which you can also adjust the sound settings from an app on your mobile phone allowing you to control features such as the light control and effects lab on the front of the speaker and the inbuilt DJ announcements, Equaliser and microphone effects. Connectivity is seamless with both Bluetooth and wireless capabilities, and the dynamic light show adds a real party atmosphere. As a bonus, it has an input on the rear to connect a guitar.

The speakers bang! I have no regrets with the purchase I really wish the USER MANUAL was in the package though. The quick start guide just doesn't cut it. Thankfully I was able to locate a PDF of the user manual and get it printed.(The speakers have different inputs & knobs on the back that you need to know how to use correctly to enjoy the most out of the speakers...and also not damage them. This speaker is insane 🤯🤯 I own a different selection of JBL products and have really enjoyed the all so naturally the party box 520 had to be added 😆 If you like to party do a bit of karaoke or just love your music then this thing is definitely one to consider ... First of all the sound quality is unbelievable I was literally scared of turning this thing up to max volume incase it blew my windows out ..the sound is crisp and the bass is impressive..we had this out on the garden with a few friends and the sound even outside was pumping at half volume I think you put this in a field and you'd hear it from the other side 😆...once the light faded that's when the light display comes in and it looks really cool ...we then passed the mic around for a bit and had a sing along everyone was really impressed...overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves music and is looking for a speaker to entertain it won't disappoint

I am so happy with this purchase!! I have always loved JBL products but this is insane. Perfect for the garden for summer BBQ’s as well as any party. The quality of the music is so so good and crystal clear. Will defo recommend!

the jbl partybox 520is a solid mid-range party speaker . it got a amazing bass, also a light-show to suit whatever ur doing and this also has a decent battery . we used this for a garden party for my son and he loved it . will 100% recommend to friends and family .

Obsessed with the JBL PartyBox right now, its big enough to fill the whole house or even the garden with music, plus super easy to roll around thanks to the builtin wheels. Took it to the park for a mini sports day with the kids and it was just a vibe. The lights had them mesmerised and honestly made it feel like a full on party. But the SOUND quality is everything! crystal clear, super loud just puts pulls you into the music. Am sold loving the JBL 520 10/10.

This speaker needs to be on everyone’s to buy list! It’s fantastic and the sound quality is great, I also like the fact it has a bass boost button, which takes music to the next level! The lighting is a great function and you are able to change the colours. The is also an option to plug in a mic so you can have your very own karaoke party. The speaker is quite heavy, however it’s on wheels and has an extendable pull bar so it can be pulled similar to a suitcase. Overall it’s a great product and I recommend to any music lover that loves to host!

The JBL PartyBox 520 is a monster of a speaker. At 400 watts, it’s ridiculously loud, with deep bass and clear vocals that can handle anything from hip-hop to rock. The light show is a fun bonus and really makes it feel like a mini concert. It’s big and heavy but the wheels and handle help a lot, and the splash resistance is reassuring for outdoor use. Battery life is about 15 hours, with the option to swap if needed.

What JBL has brought to the table within the range of partybox is simply phenomenon. Very study of good quality design and function. It does exactly what it's meant to do, play good quality music. What also makes it stand out from the rest party of the party box range with the removable battery. Well-done JBL! Partybox 520 is highly recommended.

I’ve owned the JBL 320 for a while and always thought it sounded fantastic, but the 520 really takes things up a notch. It’s a lot bigger and heavier, so you don’t really want to carry it around too much, but the sound it puts out is worth it. The bass is punchy and powerful, the mids and highs are crisp and it easily fills a room or even a garden without any effort. Plugging it into the mains makes the sound even richer, though the battery still holds up really well. The build feels solid and well put together, with a proper rugged design and a sturdy handle that makes it easier to move despite the weight. I also like being able to link it up with my 320 through the JBL app - which also give access to the EQ settings and DJ shortcuts. It’s not a cheap speaker, but once you hear it in action, the price is easy to justify. Perfect for parties!

Used this a couple of times now for parties, the lights and sound on this speaker are unreal, the bass is great, the sound is great, although a little heavy if your needing to carry it but the pull along handle is a welcome extra. Can’t wait to party some more with this.

The excitement this speaker brings is infectious. I hadn't even taken delivery yet, and when this turned up at the door, the delivery driver was telling me how much fun I'm going to have and how amazing it's going to sound, just from seeing the box. You need ample space and a bit of muscle just to wrestle it out of the box, but once set up, it is a thing of beauty. I won't go through the individual inputs and technical specifications, as you can easily read the list. What I will say is that inputs and buttons feel excellent quality, and the small light inside the input panel is incredibly thoughtful. I've hooked up DJ controllers, microphones etc with no issues. I do feel like the sound effect buttons are wasted real estate and can even be frustrating if people keep pressing them at parties due to the easy access. They could stay hidden away inside the app and be replaced with more access to fine-tuning the lighting, or EQ selections. I would call myself an audiophile, but I don't go to extreme lengths to achieve perfection and prefer not to have to purchase separate amps and build a full setup. I really appreciate the portability of this speaker. Whilst I'd normally walk around with a set of Audeze headphones, I've found myself wheeling the 520 into different areas of my house and garden, and the kids usually follow and have a bit of a rave. The sound quality is exceptional, and becomes noticeably louder when powered by the mains. I've had no issues with battery life and feel it's likely it will easily surpass 12 hours at the volume levels I've been using. In very large rooms, the sound can get a bit 'lost'. If you try to counter this by increasing the volume to nearly maximum, you do lose some of the power of the bass. I'd suggest that this speaker is used in combination with other JBL partybox products, or even another 520 depending on your setup in large rooms. In the open air, you do have to position yourself in the right place to make the most of the bass and sound staging, but that's not a knock on the product as it's not a full PA system. It's definitely powerful enough for pool parties and the like. I've not found myself reaching for the EQ adjustment on the app, which is unusual for me. I've listened to a wide range of electronic music, rock, metal and epic/classical during my testing. The highs sound crisp and not overbearing, the mids are visible and beautiful, and the lows are powerful and moving. The only adjustment I've made between genres is the bass boost. Some genres feel fine at 0 (and I frequently used this if I didn't want to upset the neighbours), at 1 the bass is a deeper pounding and I thought this would be my go-to, however I often set it to 2 and enjoy the more powerful punchy feeling through my body. If I'm directly in front of the speaker and close my eyes, it does feel like I'm in front of a PA system at a festival. In fact, I prefer the sound stage of this speaker to this year's Creamfields. I would say it'd save money just to stay at home, but that brings me to my final topic: the price. I'm not completely certain where in the market this speaker sits at it's RRP. It's too expensive and cumbersome for something you'll want to have sitting around at home using sporadically, and the 710 is on sale for around the same price which I think better suits a more 'professional' setup for a DJ or party provider. The main benefit of the 520 over the 710 is the ability to be fully powered by battery. If money is no object, and you have the space to own one or multiple of these speakers, then I think you'd struggle to find the same sound performance, and it's definitely impossible to find the same portability. I believe that the 320 is even overkill for most homes, which makes the 520 a delightfully stupid purchase that I personally wouldn't regret as long as I could afford it!

This speaker is like a mini 710 it is loud it’s clear to and it covers a lot of distance for a party & last time I had a party they called the cops on me this speaker is Insane I love my 520 you can’t ask for any better it’s worth every penny
