Crafted from hand-selected Northern hard rock maple wood, this chopping board exemplifies environmental responsibility and quality craftsmanship. The cutting board features a reversible design, so you can use both sides when cutting various foods. For added versatility, you can even use the butcher block as a serving piece for fruits, cheeses, and more. The thin profile and portability make them ideal for easy storage and maneuvering.
The board comes with a cream finish with beeswax that seals and protects the cutting board. Featuring a natural look with a rounded edge design will make this cutting board stand out from ordinary wood or plastic boards. When finished meal prepping, simply hand wash with soap and cool water to clean.
Made of durable and sustainably sourced, hand-selected hard rock maple wood, the solid construction is suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Q: What is the country or origin? Is it a solid piece of wood? Or several pieces glued together?

A: It is made of individual boards glued together, as is visible in the photos. Since wood warps, a solid piece of wood would curl up & not be able lie flat. Individual boards are arranged in alternating directions (head-to-toe, then the next board toe-to-head, etc.). The pressure of one board pressing against another prevents warping.

We bought the John Boos Boos Block Chop-N-Slice Series Reversible Wood Cutting Board with Eased Corners, 1-Inch Thickness, 10" x 10" x 1", Maple At first this board was great. Size was really handy for small jobs. (We have a larger Boos board that we really like). I made sure to treat with mineral oil and the Boos Board cream. Hand washed only and dried. Unfortunately after about two month the board split and we had to return it.

Sadly a disappointment
I wanted to love this cutting board because someone recommended it but I was really surprised and disappointed by the workmanship. I feel like I’m going to get a splinter from using it because it’s not properly sanded down (see photo). I thought Boos was known for its quality, I’ve seen their butcher blocks before and this does not feel like the same company. I know that this is nowhere near the price of a butcher block but $45 for a small cutting board is still quite a lot yet for what you get and I’m sad to say the quality doesn’t match the price.

Don't waste your money on this
I’ve had this block for about 8 months. When I got it, I sealed it and treated it. I oil treat my wooden boards regularly. 8 months in and it’s splitting already (it’s 6 pieces of wood glued together). I thought this might be of higher quality, but I’m very disappointed that it is already splitting. I have 3 other wooden cutting boards I use in rotation - and this one is the worst by far.
