Hand washed one time prior to use and it is stained and rusted
Hand washed one time prior to use and it is stained and rusted at a small chip in the knife. Albeit the rust is extremeley minimal, but it will just spread with time. You get what you pay for.

Dull right out of the box
Dull right out of the box! Really nice design, but you think they would sharpen it before they send it out!

I used it for about a week and it started rusting. Hand washed daily, taken care of, and I get rust. It has been returned. I still use knives from the 70s that don't have any rust. No quality here.
Rust within a week??!

Not sharp. Came stained.
I wanted to love this. I almost gave it an extra star because of the blade cover, but what's the point? The knife is dull as any knife I have tossed in the past, for no longer being able to sharpen. Also, it came with what looks like water stains, but they will not go away. Definitely returning this one

Holds up well
Bought on mistake thinking it was smaller but it turns out to be quite reliable. I've used it for two years now and it still cuts well and clean.

Looks expensive but it's not!
This was such a bargain. It is heavy-weight, beautifully made, and looks like it is very expensive. It feels good in my hand and is sharp, comes with a knife guard for safety. I will hand wash to preserve its looks and utility.

Good replacement knife
I bought this knife as an interim solution when my knives were packed away after a fire. Very pleased with weight and sharpness, especially for the price.

Great value
Great quality for the price - feels secure in my hand and while it looked very large in person, it is perfectly sized for any kitchen job!

great for those on a budget
if you are on a budget and can't swing $$$ for bigger name brands, go with this line of Cuisinart knives. We purchased this knife close to 10 years ago and it ended up pitting on the blade. Cuisinart was not responsive in honoring their warranty, so we decided to just buy a new knife. While we want to get a professional grade quality knife that could last the rest of our lives, we don't have the budget for that right now so we just replaced the knife we had with the same knife. Even if we get only 10 years out of it, it's a good buy. And at that point we can upgrade.

Love this knife, great value
Loved everything about this knife. It was really nice and so affordable to. It’s sharp, well balanced, sturdy, and cuts really well like fruits and vegetables and things like that meat is OK.

Dull and very light
I bought this as a gift for someone who has never had a chef's knife. I wanted something basic just to introduce this person to the joys of using a chef's knife. When I got this out of the package, I was surprised how light it felt compared it to my own 8" knife. The lightness is a bit displeasing but that's probably a matter of taste. I decided to test the knife and was surprised how dull it seemed. I expected any new knife to seem a lot sharper than my well-used, intermittently-sharpened, 15+ year-old knife that I love. But I actually had trouble chopping an onion with the Cuisinart knife. It might partly be the lack of weight to the knife which, again, I'm not used to. I'm thinking I should have bought the same thing I have myself (Mine is a Henckels but I'm not sure I can say that here). I jsut hadn't realized there could be so much difference between them around the same price point!

awesome knife
my partner and i just moved into our new home and wanted to get a good kitchen knife. as two mid-20 year olds, we didn't know too much about knives nor wanted to get a huge knife set, so we ordered two chef's knives. these came really fast (via delivery) and are super great in quality! they're not heavy at all but also not flimsy! came super sharp and has a cover to seal the blade. highly recommend for novice cooks :)
