submitted bydevshe - 5 years agoA: NO! The term Reef safe is misleading. It contains harmful chemicals Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate & Octocrylene which disrupts the balance of the coral's biology and causes it to bleach and die.

Do NOT use this sunscreen!! We usually use Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen, but the day we needed more sunscreen, this was one of our only options. Used it on our whole family of 5, including my 3 children. EVERY single one of us got burnt out in the sun the 1 time we used this. I have a family history of melanoma, so I slathered this on us all to make sure we were covered for the hour & a half we were in the sun. All 5 were burnt & 3 of us ended up with blisters. NEVER again.

Caused a horrible red rash all over my daughter’s face after 1 application. I can’t even put anything on her poor face because anything that touches it burns so bad she cries!! I’ve given her an antihistamine and put some cold compresses on her cheeks. Do not buy this. Do not put this on your kids and their delicate skin. It literally looks like she’s got a full pallet of blush all over her face. Very upset that target’s store brand would manufacture and market this for kids and after reading the reviews this is not a new issue. Target just doesn’t care.

This Target brand has a horrible strong Chemical smell. I purchased 2 since the sale was buy one get one 50% off. Brought to the local park district pool and it stinks so bad that my 12 yr old grandson asked what that smell was before he was even sprayed with it. It’s a non returnable item and I’m stuck with it. Why can’t Target add some nice coconut scent or similar like the major brands. This stuff is put on kids!!!! Do better Target!
