I have used Knorr's Bearnaise mix in the past (pre-Pandenic) and loved the flavor it added to Steak, Chicken and Fish Oscar. I recently purchased a Knorr's Bearnaise mix. After tasting the Sauce I doubled-checked the package...I thought it was mis-labeled b/c it tasted like Hollandaise Sauce. I read the list of ingredients and noticed that Terragon was not included but lemon was...Bingo! Terragon is the spice that imparts that distinctive, delicious flavor to Bearnaise sauce. Lemon is what makes Hollandaise taste like...well...Hollandaise. I went so far as to call Knorr and asked if the recipe had been altered. I was informed that around 2019, the recipe had indeed been changed and that Terragon is no longer one of the ingredients. When I asked the obvious question...Why?...The customer Rep replied that she believed it was a cost issue. I'm reminded of the aphorism..."I don't know what the question is, but the answer is money". It should be noted that the bulk of positive reviews for Knorr's Bearnaise Sauce Mix are dated PRIOR to the change in 2019. I, for one, will NEVER purchase this product again. If I wanted a Hollandaise flavor, I would have bought a mix that contained one.

I don't know what you've changed in your bernaise sauce but it's definitely not an improvement. The sauce used to be rich, creamy, and full of tarragon flavor. Now it's pale, watery, and lacks flavor. Tastes sour. I've stopped buying it. Please bring back your original recipe!

I have been buying your béarnaise sauce for 20 plus years. I only have it when I cook on my grill in the nice weather. I recently started using it again and something has changed. The color, texture and most importantly the taste! I was not the only one that noticed. It almost has a sour taste now and light yellow color. Why would you change a good thing. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it….

I purchased the packet of mix thinking it would taste like the Knorr hollandaise sauce you get in restaurants (they get it in tetra packs, pre-made and just needs to be heated up). This tastes NOTHING like that, it's like butter in a sauce form. I feel like I wasted some expensive ingredients when my grocery budget is already tight. Will not be purchasing the mix packets again!

I thought I had purchased the wrong package of hollandaise, because it tasted so "off" and was super thin and runny. I even searched my old grocery orders to see what I had originally bought "instead." Nope, definitely the same one! Glad to see the rest of these reviews, because I thought I was going crazy. Recipe has definitely changed recently. The search for a new one begins! :(

I have used the Knorr bearnaise sauce mix successfully for over 30 years with no complaints, but the new recipe is absolute garbage. The creamy flavor is no longer present, and the quality is abysmal. Other Knorr sauce mixes have suffered the same fate and as of today, I have cleared all my cabinets of Knorr products and I will never use this brand again.

take a lesson from coca-cola-go back to the old recipe…now this bearnaise has been my go to sauce for years, couldn’t find it in stock so when i finally found it i stocked up. what a waste of money. the new recipe is inedible- taste like nothing, or maybe the butter a little. what happened, please fix it

Classically, professionally, trained chef, and the restaurant is always used, knorr holiday sauce until a few months ago. Something changed and I’m not sure what. It is runny and viscosity is noticeably different. I’m sure this was done by one of the accountants in the home office. Sad to see a classic destroyed by management.

I bought a box of 10 envelopes. We use béarnaise for salmon and veal scallopini. I've been making it myself but used to use Knorr. It doesn't taste at all like it should. It's very very sour, like it's got way too much vinegar in it. Now I'm stuck with 9 packets that are useless unless I can find something to add to make it taste like it used to.

Recently I wanted to make it again and bought 3 of the hollandaise sauce packets (as I used to back then) and made it. It tastes horrible...no lemon taste and overall very bland. What happened to my favorite hollandaise sauce??!!
