The last--but certainly not least--dish we love to drizzle with hollandaise is a perfectly cooked Eggs Benedict. Can you think of a dish more suited perfectly for its creamy goodness? With seven sauce mixes to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find something to help you turn a simply wonderful dinner into a winning one. From a buttery Béarnaise studded with tarragon and parsley that’s all but tailor-made for a medium-rare steak to a delectable pasta-ready Parma Rosa that’ll make you forget about your favorite vodka sauce, our mixes are sure to make every dish from your home kitchen taste like it came straight out of a restaurant.

Your new formulation is absolutely awful

Knorr has obviously changed the recipe for its hollandaise sauce, and it's not good. I've been using this product exclusively 10-15 years, but it's now changed for the worse. Many others have launched the same complaints. I gave the sauce two trys, even once melting the butter beforehand, as one would with a homemade hollandaise. The results were the same: awful. Urging you to please go back to your original recipe, and relabel it as such, thereby admitting your awful mistake. Maltodextrin? Really? What food genius made that bone head decision?

Having increased my protein intake and bored with it I have the Knorr’s Bernadine a great flavor addition and almost free of impact on my managed calorie regimen.

Not the same. So disappointed. Used this product for years…. it was so rich tasting and full of flavor. Not now. Why did you change a good thing? You will be losing a lot of customers. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing it again. Please bring back old recipe.

I love this quick and delicious mix whenever Eggs Benedict is on the breakfast menu. And, it’s delicious on steamed or broiled asparagus as the perfect topper. I always keep a supply on hand.

I’ve been a dedicated Knorr Bernaise sauce buyer for well over 20 years. I love filet mignon and make this on a regular basis. Just grabbed two packets at my grocery store and the first batch looked and smelled so wrong I threw it away. Then I smelled my milk (thought it had gone bad) and even used fresh butter b/c as I was stirring it didn’t look right (I’ve done this enough times to know). Second batch was just as bad but, I kept going. It never thickened like it should and the color was very white… THEN I TATSED IT (or should I say, I didn’t taste anything!!!). Nothing. It was like buttery water… no flavor. None. It was like I had COVID and couldn’t tatse anything. That went in the trash and I’m not buying it again until I can find out how to get a hold of OLD PACKETS!!! Why Knorr? Why? How did anyone in your test kitchen okay this? Did you even test it to see what people thought of it compared to the old recipe?? I bet ya did not. The only positive reviews on here are from YEARS ago. Please listen to your long time customers and bring it back! Then refund all of us for wasting all of our hard earned money on numerous packets, milk, butter and of course the time spent stirring it endlessly in the hope it would finally thicken. Nope.

Don't know what you did to your bearnaise sauce, but it sucks now. It does not even taste like bearnaise. What did you do to it? It was always my go-to for my filets. My prime rib. Even my pork chops. Had it tonight and dumped it down the drain. Going to make it from scratch now. You've lost a years long customer.

Béarnaise sauce disaster

Yesterday for my Easter meal I prepared a package of Knorrs béarnaise sauce mix. I have been using this sauce for YEARS. I always said it could make anything delicious, and I highly recommended it to my friends. Unfortunately, however, it seems the béarnaise sauce mix has a new formulation. I served it over some broccoli yesterday, and it was simply terrible (I’m sorry to say.) What a disappointment. Unless Knorrs decides to go back to the original I will not be purchasing it again. This also casts suspicion on all their other products as well. Now I’m afraid to try their other mixes that I have used faithfully. Knorrs has always had such a reputation for excellence. Why would they suddenly produce such an inferior product?

WHEN are you going to go back to the original formula for your Bearnaise sauce??? It is clearly obvious that your current recipe is extremely disliked by numerous consumers! If you care one tenth of one percent about your consumers, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change this product back to the original formula!!!

PLEASE change the formula back!! The new bernaise sauce is terrible, tastes rancid, and is just plain awful. All of the 1 star reviews aren't lying. Why change a recipe that was clearly so beloved and not listen to the consumer?! I would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Vile! I have used this product for well over 20 years and over the past 2 months have had to toss out 2 full tenderloins because of your recipe change! First I thought my milk was bad. Second I thought I used the wrong packet (dug through the trash to make sure I had not) Then I blamed the butter.... Tonight after researching on line...I find out Knorr has changed the recipe! You have lost a long time customer. I am now reading you've changed your Hollandaise recipe as well. *FACE PALM* I am SO out! There will be nothing from Knorr entering my shopping carts! This includes your Knorr pasta products, Hollandaise sauce, rice products...etc. What a shame! Looking to save a buck you are costing yourselves a consumer base! The nausea after one bite this evening (yes, i tried it again - how I found out about the recipe change) has left me with a sour taste for Knorr - the same sour taste that your "NEW" recipe provides. ZERO Stars. See ya!

The Recipe Really Has Changed

My family have also been using Knorr mixes for years. In the past couple years the bearnaise mix has never turned out, and I thought it was something else - maybe the butter, maybe the milk. But no, the recipe has changed, with added sugar. The new and old recipe both contain: corn starch, maltodextrin, salt, citric acid, yeast extract, "spices" and guar gum. The old recipe also contains: colour (unspecified), monosodium glutamate (MSG), canola oil, disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate, sulphites, dried parsley, and onion powder. The new recipe exchanges these for: turmeric and paprika (color), riboflavin, high oleic sunflower oil, enriched wheat flour, sugar, whey protein concentrate (milk) and thiamine mononitrate. Take care as sugar is now called out separately from maltodextrin, which seems to imply they have added sugar. This is really sad as I enjoyed Knorr products - I will be watching for changes to other Unilever brands.

I figured there was no way I was the only person who noticed a significantly worse taste in the Knorr Bearnaise sauce, compared to previous purchases of the same product. It was always really good - a great alternative to making it from scratch. I've been making it for YEARS. But the last packet was awful. It was so bad that I thought I had gotten an expired packet, but that was not the case. Something has obviously been altered, probably for cost considerations. Why change a wonderful product???
