Q: Can you select a work in a book to see the definition and synonyms and have access to brief general context information to help struggling readers?
A: Hello! Thank you for your question! Kobo Elipsa 2E allows you to see definitions. To do so, you'll need to press and hold the word you want to look up, and an underline will appear beneath it. When you lift your finger, the word's definition will appear. Then, tap the screen to close the dictionary. However, please note Kobo's dictionary feature provides definitions only, not synonyms or additional context information. The dictionary may not work in some books like PDFs, library books, or free internet books. You can also add new dictionaries to the eReader for additional language support. Have a great day! Q: Does this version also have Libby integrated?
A: Hello Aria! Thank you for your question. The Kobo Elipsa 2E does not have Libby integrated. However, it offers native support for OverDrive, allowing you to borrow and download digital library books directly to the device without the need for an external app like Libby. This integration enables you to access ebooks from participating libraries seamlessly. To utilize this feature, you'll need an active library card from a library that supports OverDrive. Availability of specific titles depends on your library's collection. It's advisable to check if your local library offers OverDrive services to make the most of this functionality. Thanks! submitted byMike - 10 months agoTarget expert supportA: Hello Tanya! We are sorry for the late reply. This question got lost for some reason. Kobo is designed to work with Kobo's ecosystem. Kindle books are designed to work exclusively within Kindle ecosystem, which includes its own devices and apps. Unfortunately, Kindle's proprietary format and DRM (Digital Rights Management) make it incompatible with Kobo devices. If you own Kindle books that are DRM-free you can convert them into a Kobo-compatible format like EPUB using software like Calibre. However, this process may require technical knowledge and is subject to copyright laws in your region. Kind Regards, BlueProton CS
