Koji set/2 Chocolate Bomb Mold: Silicone Cocoa & Hot Chocolate Bombs Molds, 12 Cavities, Dishwasher-Safe, Red/Orange

I used specialty chocolate made for melting and even did two layers to make sure it was thick enough. I got just two complete bombs made. The rest cracked when I tried to remove them from the molds. The molds are not smooth enough to allow the chocolate to slide out easily. Gently loosening the sides will just cause the sides to crack. Really disappointed this didn’t work, but glad I tested this ahead as this is my only plan for Christmas gifts this year. One star for the geometric shape one, which was pretty and unique and ironically the only one I got the completed balls from. I thought for sure that one would be harder.

The molds are too firm to properly get the chocolate shells out without breaking.

These are smaller than the mug photo makes them look, too small to make hot cocoa bombs, which they are advertised to be exactly made for. The diameter of the mold measures at under 2". Every recipe and tutorial I found online for making hot cocoa bombs called for 2-3 tbsp of mix, plus mini marshmallows in the shell. Even trying to fit a scant 1 tbsp of mix overflowed the first half of the mold, and don't even try to stuff more than 2 mini marshmallows on top of it. I managed to make one with no mini marshmallows and not enough mix for a full mug of cocoa, and the other two I couldn't even get to seal they were too overflowing. I wasted money on ingredients, time, and energy and instead of cute handmade gifts I have nothing to show for it but frustration. I don't know what's going on in the photo that shows all those minimarshmallows in the shell, but they must have used extra tiny ones. That said, there's nothing wrong with the molds themselves - buy them if you want to make something other than hot chocolate bombs with them. They are just a woefully inadequate size for the purpose they are specifically marketed for.

If this was a real kit it would come with directions, some kind of press, gloves so the chocolate doesn’t smudge when you try to press them together. I’m a pretty creative person and confident in my pastry abilities. This just ain’t it.

Just used these and they’re great! Easy to take out of the mold and easy to clean. Definitely recommend.
