Q: Does the seat just sit on the base once the tabs are in the holes or does it need to be locked in? It looks like I have it on right and it seems to be on securely but I was looking to see if it's suppose to be locked in place somehow.

A: not the best for potty training - easy for the child to take apart the seat and waste tub to spill. Seat needs to lock in for best use of this item

Once the waste tub is placed inside the base with the carry handle facing forward, all you have to do is align the seat into the base by inserting the four tabs into the holes. You won't hear a clicking noise. We hope this helps!

Q: Why does this seat not soft close? It makes a loud snap when closing. After the loud noise it falls down very fast.

Q: Why does the seat turn yellow so fast? Other training items don't have this issue. How is it best to clean/wash the seat to prevent the yellow stains from being removed?

This potty seat grows with your child so when your child is ready to use an adult toilet, the seat will transfer to most adult toilets. Simply remove the potty seat by lifting upward and place the seat on the adult toilet ensuring that the tabs fit inside the rim of the toilet. Make sure the seat is level on the toilet and fits snugly within the toilet seat opening without tipping. My little was super excited about this chair. I had a regular basic white chair that looked like a traditional toilet that he was uninterested and unimpressed with. He really likes the flushing knob and I really like that the lid closes. He is far more active in the potty training journey now that he has this seat. It’s also really awesome that it can be used on a regular toilet as well as a stool.

This is an awesome potty seat! There are several features that make us like it more than the ones we have had in the past. The first is simply that it folds down. It's a simple feature, but it helps it not to feel like it takes up as much space (and helps you from feeling you're staring directly into a potty all the time). The second is the way it comes apart. Each component "down there" comes out separately, making it much easier to clean. Finally: we have two boys, and it has a pee guard! Like, a good one! Believe me... boy parents, you'll be thankful for it! The only minor downside is that it's so low to the ground, it's almost too low, but it's still seeing plenty of use! Overall, we highly recommend this seat for you!

My son picked out this potty because he loves Elmo. He used it once and it made such a mess because there is only a small lip in the front. There is no blue splash guard part as seen in the advertised pictures and mentioned in the description. I looked for the splash guard thinking it was an attachment piece, but it was not in the box. I contacted Kolcraft and they sent me a replacement seat, but again it does not have the splash guard, just the short lip! Now I have a potty chair that my son wants to use but cannot because the mess. Upon reading some reviews, I guess I received an older model (Manufactured 2011/11) toilet seat that does not have a splash guard. I would not recommend my version, but maybe the updated one it better.

I had high expectations for this potty trainer but it didn't deliver quite like I expected. The overall appearance is super cute, my boys loved getting familiar with it. It makes toilet flushing sounds which they enjoyed but..it's not to scale. My 2.5 year old is too big for it, the hole in the center of the seat is too small for both #1 & 2. It doesn't fit well on an oblong toilet seat as you can see from the photos. They do love to use it as a stool and a seat (with the lid closed). They like using it to reach the sink and it makes them feel like they are accomplishing a task.

This is the third type of potty we have tried and overall we have liked it. There are a few small details that we didn't like as well as other brands for our family though. Our children are very tall for their age and this toilet sits lower to the ground than others. The hole where the sit is also significantly smaller than other comparable toilets, which posed a little trouble when learning to aim with our son. Also, the splash guard on the front is a flexible silicone and I felt it was kind of pointless. I prefer a hard plastic that is removable. One additional consideration, is the base is larger than others we have used as well, as which could pose a problem in a small space. We did really like that the toilet has multiple functions, including a built in step stool option, and my son loved that it was Elmo themed. Overall I would recommend this for any Elmo loving kiddo!

My child started potty training a few weeks ago. We love this because the colors are fun and who doesn’t love Elmo!? I like that the potty can be used in many different ways for the different stages of potty training. My children all love pressing the buttons to hear the toilet flush. It’s easy to clean and dries fast also. It is lightweight and easy to store. However, all my kids seem to play with this more than actually using it as a potty. For my potty training child, it’s hard to get them to sit on it for more than a few minutes. They would want to press the buttons more. We have turned off the sounds, just so my child can actually sit on it and use it as a potty and not a toy. It has seem to work for now. Definitely a decent product that my children all love!

This a good tool for potty training. Kids like Elmo and its easy from them to get on and off. The "flush" button is fun for kids too. There's a silicone pee shield in the front of the seat that is a neat design but may require extra vigilance when cleaning. It does work well as a step stool at the sink.

I had the honor of testing this product and it’s a great potty. It is a good height for toddlers, easy to use and great vibrant colors. My child especially liked to flush the potty and hear the fun sounds. The basin is easy to remove and clean. It can also be used as a step stool and we continue to use it as such now that my child has transitioned to the regular toilet.

Works as expected. I love the front of the potty that (usually) protects any pee from spilling out of the top while the child is going to the bathroom. I wish the seat fit on our toilets but it does not, we have an oval shaped toilet, not round. The noises are more of a distraction to toddlers but helps get them interested in the potty. Like that it can also be a step stool but want to make sure you’re near and can empty/clean it first. Overall, fairly easy to clean.

I am not a fan of this potty. It’s bulky and very low to the ground - I have a tall 26 month old and it’s just too low so I recommend this if you’re starting potty training with a younger little one. The receptacle opening is also very small and when you’ve got a boy there’s a good chance of it not landing in there. I was hoping to just remove the top part and set it on our regular toilet but it fits awkwardly to where there is a big gap in the front section of the toilet seat (so the toddler is sitting way far back vs closer to the front of the seat like normal). So then I thought ok well my kids always need a stool around here but when you close the lid it has the battery spot so personally I don’t like little crevices or screws I’d prefer a flat top like a true stool. The sounds are cute but could get annoying- wish they had just done a simple toilet flush sound (with no Elmo laughing) for a more realistic effect. Overall this was a fail for us and I will go for a simpler training potty for our family
