A: Hello! We wouldn't recommend our Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo for color treated hair. For a nice deep cleansing, we would recommend our color safe "Scalp Purifying Micellar Shampoo" as the best choice for your highlighted hair.

Next the shampoo itself is fabulous! I have a ton of thick long hair, and I only have to use about a quarter sized drop to work up a rich full lather on all my hair. It washes out cleanly and leaves my hair feeling soft and clean. I will totally be purchasing this again!

My hair looks and feels amazing -- I'm officially a believer in clarifying shampoo, especially the Kristin Ess shampoo! It's very good at removing oil and build-up. Suds easily so you don't need much to cover a lot of hair. Recommend combining with the conditioner as well for a double dose of awesome!

I immediately noticed a real difference after using this clarifying shampoo, my hair was much lighter, bouncier, with more volume. It felt like it removed buildup without stripping my hair of any moisture. I’ve also been using the Kristin Ess Reconstructive Moisture Mask once a week, and the combination of the mask and the clarifying shampoo has my hair in the best shape it’s ever been. It feels light and healthy and holds style better. I honestly didn’t realize how much buildup my hair had before using this product – it felt so heavy and weighed down before I started using it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who feels like they need a refresh on their haircare routine.

However, the shampoo and mask did not work well for me. I have long, straight thin hair. The shampoo did not lather much and smelled very strongly of fragrances. After my hair dried, it felt like there was residue still left in my hair and I rinsed it once more just in case. Unfortunately, it didn’t help much. My hair felt very dry, and every time I ran my fingers through they would get stuck in tangles even after brushing my hair. It was strange, because I haven’t had any other products do that to my hair in the past. Luckily, I was able to get my hair back to normal and smooth again after returning to my normal hair routine. On the plus side, my hair was very shiny after using the Kristin Ess products. As I mentioned, I do have a friend that has spoken highly of the brand, it just wasn’t for me.
