Kristin Ess Hair Ultra Rich Softening Clarifying Shampoo is a sulfate-free shampoo formulated to remove the heavy feeling that often comes along with excess oils and buildup. It's important to rinse out this gentle shampoo well before applying a treatment mask so be sure to lather, rinse + repeat if you need to!
How to use:
1. On wet hair, start with a quarter-sized amount and add more of the hydrating shampoo as needed to create a rich lather.
2. Massage this clarifying shampoo in at the scalp, then work it all the way through to the ends.
3. Rinse well and follow with the Kristin Ess Ultra Lightweight Softening Conditioner.
Tip: Massage the moisturizing shampoo for dry hair into the back of your head, too! Most people forget that spot and it helps when trying to achieve body + movement.

I have been using Kristen Ess shampoo and conditioner for YEARS!!!! I love the signature collection. I decided I wanted to try the softening collection. Although my hair is arguably softer and the conditioner is great, I DO NOT like the shampoo. Compared to the signature collection, it really feels like it's not really washing my hair. It doesn't lather very well, and I feel like my hair gets dirtier faster/doesn't get that clean when I watch it. In the future I will probably get the signature shampoo and the softening conditioner.

I WOULDNT RECOMMEND!!!! this to anyone with sensitive skin. I broke out into hives because of the ingredients it has. Every time i took a shower and used this shampoo it would happen. Not because of any food allergies but because of the shampoo. Becareful and monitor your symptoms.

This shampoo didn’t leave my hair soft or nourished. It left my hair dry and made my scalp itch like crazy! The only good thing is the scent. Plus it took forever to lather. The only good thing about it is the smell, packaging and price.

I don't usually review items but I had to share this one. It is advertised as "ultra rich lather", which isn't necessarily a lie, but I have to use at MINIMUM 4x recommended amount to get it to lather sufficiently. I usually use even more than that or add another brand of shampoo to get it to lather all my hair. For context, I have fine hair and not a lot of it, in other words a small amount should be quite enough for me! The smell is amazing but I will not be purchasing this again.

Wish I could rate this higher because it smells SO good, but this doesn’t work for my hair at all. I have medium/fine hair and no matter how much I lather this in my hands before applying it to my hair, it feels like it never fully washes out. There’s always at least one section of hair that feels oily even though I just showered. Before this I was using The One shampoo from Kristin Ess and I didn’t notice any difference in softness between that formula and this one.
