Kristin Ess Hair Velvet Finish Softening Hair Mask is a hydrating hair mask that’s silicone-free and is designed for all hair types that feel dry, dull, brittle or damaged. You can use this moisture replenishing and nourising hair mask regularly and it won't leave your hair feeling weighed down. Pair it with Kristin Ess Hair Ultra Rich Softening Shampoo to give your hair the ultimate pillowy bounce.
How to use:
1. After cleansing, apply hair mask treatment from middle to ends.
2. Detangle using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
3. Allow this hydrating hair mask to sit on the hair for 5 minutes, or longer if you have time.
Tip: Try doing a double-condition if you have dry hair from color or heat styling. On the second application, only apply from middle to ends.

Amazing for slickback styles!
First the smell of this product is delicious I get compliments all the time when I am wearing it in my hair. I only use this product as a slickback styling cream and hair mask and it works amazing as it holds my hairs in place and rinses out great leaving my scalp and hair hydrated and soft. For an in shower hair mask it works ok - I’d say it’s basically a conditioner with a little more softening power. If you’re looking for a powerful in shower hair mask this is probably not the product for you.

Dry hair and an allergic reaction
I have never had a hair product cause an outbreak of hives all over my face, neck, and shoulders like this. Thankfully it went away relatively quickly, but it definitely freaked me out. To add insult to injury, my hair was way less soft than it normally is. It felt very dry despite leaving this mask on for 15+ min. Threw it out and will be trying something else.

Did absolutely nothing for my hair. I have thick, curly/wavy 2B/C hair and there was no noticeable difference after using this mask. I like the Kristen Ess cleansing shampoo but this was a miss for me. I don’t really like their curl care line either, curly hair doesn’t seem to be their forte.

You do need to leave it on for at least five minutes, which is sometimes hard for me to find the time, but it helps the effectiveness of the product. I did notice a difference in my hair texture after using. My hair felt lighter and felt similar to when I leave the salon. Glad to have this product and it’s a great price point too.

Not for my hair

I have super fine hair and it didn’t weigh down my hair, it conditioned it nicely and left my hair smooth and it smell good but not over bearing scented like other hair products can be. Can’t wait to try other products from this brand !
