Q: Do I need a drill to assemble it?

A: Drill is needed only when you are mounting the cabinet to the wall.
submitted byCandles - 9 months agoA: No you need hammer and Phillips screwdriver though. And attach plastic drawer sides to main drawer board BEFORE the opposite board or you’ll also need a short screwdriver to attach.

submitted byShweta - 2 years agoTarget staff supportA: Instructions say to not mount to the wall. From the construction I don’t think you should either unless you add support from the bottom. There are screws/holes to attach to wall at the top but that’s for stability rather than mounting

submitted byAllen - 2 years agoTarget staff supportA: I had wanted to purchase this product as a freestanding unit (not in front of a wall), but based on some reviews, even though you don’t need to mount it to a wall, this shoe rack is open in the back. So for aesthetics, you would need to place it in front of a wall unless you don’t mind seeing what’s inside from the back.

If you have a larger foot (I wear size 13) then you will not be able to utilize the shelf dividers and you’ll be lucky to get more than 4 pairs of shoes total in this storage shelf. Description says “holds 12 pairs”. Would only believe this for small women or children’s shoes.

I've had two of these for probably a year now. Especially given the price, they're absolutely amazing. Couldn't be happier. Sorry, this is the best picture I had. There's enough room on the top for magazine holders - I had gotten a bunch of cardboard ones from amazon and use them on top to hold leashes, balls, things that need to go to the car, flashlights, dog brushes and stuff. Yes, it's just pressed fiber board or whatever, so it probably won't do well in a high-humidity environment. The brackets that hold the inner dividers are just plastic. I have had a shelf pop out of the slot, but it's rare and only when I try shoving hiking boots in there. Does fit some of my hubs size 13 shoes even!

I just bought this shoe cabinet a week and a day ago, and it broke 2 days ago. The screws that hold the front of the shelves on tore out of the drawer, making the doors fall off. I did my best to fix it, with drawer knobs. I have feeling this will only be a temporary fix, and I will end of having to throw the shoe cabinet away. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CABINET!!!!

Compact storage and it’s pretty sturdy, but does not fit 12 pairs, I can fit about 4-5 pairs (size 10 woman). It doesn’t fit shoes with big platforms. I’d say save your money if you need better shoe storage.

This is nice looking and space-saving but it doesn't hold up long term. At just under a year of use, this has fallen apart. The screws have stripped from the MDF and, therefore, I can't really fix it. Became wobbly and needed lots of readjusting. I used it for children's shoes, never over-filled. It's a low-quality product, which is disappointing given the price.

Big enough to hold size 12 men's shoes and easy enough to put together until you get to the shelves. The shelves were hard to get into the brackets and the holes didn't line up with them, I had to screw each screw in a little bit at a time versus one at a time which would have been way easier given that you have to access some with a short screwdriver in a tight space. Very pleased with the end result however!

Purchased two of these while they were on sale and I highly recommend them. One I got for my kids shoes, in the living room and the other for my bedroom which I have decided to put clothes in. They were kind of a pain to put together but worth it. I’m highly satisfied with this purchase.
