Q: Is this good for severely, dry, cracked lips? I'm extremely sick, bedridden for years, I'm dehydrated & a lot of meds don't help. I'm looking for some-thing as fab as Dr Lipp Nipple Balm. Any advic?

A: I use this product on my lips nightly after my shower and it works amazingly for preventing chapped lips! I work outside in the weather a lot and it is a lifesaver. Occasionally, I will apply it again in the morning. I am sure it would help protect them so they could heal if they were already chapped.

The unique refining process ensures a pure, high-quality product, with no preservatives, parabens, fragrance, or taste. It is recommended to apply the Lanolin after breastfeeding, instead of before, so that it has time to absorb into the skin. The NDC information indicated in a prior response was for Lansinoh's discontinued Diaper Rash Cream, not the HPA Lanolin.

A: Hello Jane, Thank you for your questions. While Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream is bacteriostatic and won’t promote new growth; it does form a partially occlusive barrier, so it is not recommended that you use lanolin when you have thrush.

Q: Can I use Lanolin Nipple Cream on my lips? I have chapped lips & anything Ive tried doesnt help to heal them, it just makes them soft but if I stop using the product, for a few days, the products I've tried my lips still are dry/cracked/chapped.

During the first few months of breastfeeding, were very painful. I couldn't find a better way to relieve the pain than with this cream. Its texture is very soft and refreshing, giving the nipple a feeling of hydration, which is why I highly recommend it.

Does the Job Well
I always get cracked nipples after pumping, and this cream heals them very nicely. By the next pumping / nursing session they are healed enough to where I don’t feel any pain. Very quick and effective. It is hard to wash off though, so I would recommend applying with a q-tip or something to prevent it getting on your fingers.

In my early pump days, I swore by these. They saved my nursing journey and is the reason why I've continued pumping 4 months in. Soothing and safe for babies, so no need to remove or wipe before nursing. We all know how much time you have before baby throws a tantrum..

Great cream for healing and reducing pain
Husband bought this for me only a few days ago after i had been suffering with cracked nipples for 2 weeks, and the almost instant relief I felt made me wonder why I hadn't considered it sooner. He also bought me nipple shields and our 14m old immediately refused them. Without the cream I would have felt completely hopeless, I had gotten to a point where I couldn't feed without immense pain. Currently I am able to feed with very little pain and they are healing really well.
