I definitely like this much more than the thick lanolin the biggest downside is that it stains your clothing.
1 reply from Lansinoh Team team - 17 days ago
Hello Court96, thank you for sharing this feedback. We're so sorry to hear that you're not fully satisfied with it. When it comes to the stains you mention, the best thing to do is to treat it like a grease stain before washing and use any products that contain a grease-fighting agent. If you have already washed and dried the items, it will be more difficult to remove the stain. First you should spot treat the stain; we would recommend using a grease-fighting dishwashing liquid (like Dawn®). Then, you should soak it, the longer the better, overnight if possible, in either hot water or some type of stain removing pre-treater. Finally, wash the stain as normal and it should come out. If this does not resolve your issue, please reach out directly at wecare@lansinoh.com. A member of our Consumer Affairs team will get back to you right away. We look forward to hearing from you.
Thinner texture than original

I bought this as I liked the idea of the glass jar but didn’t realise it wasn’t the same formula as the original one with lanolin in. This is a vegan version I guess but it is much thinner & more liquidy than the original & so depending on your use may not meet your needs. It doesn’t smell of anything but I had sort of got used to the original one so it wasn’t an issue. The original is a better balm in my opinion.

Life save, nipple saver, what's the difference? This saved me many times as my body got used to breastfeeding. The one hat lasted me about two months and if I needed it again I'd definitely go with this one. I used it together with the cooling pads and the really were such a big help. If you're struggling on your breastfeeding journey- it gets better, use this 'til then.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as it was on sale and I prefer it more than the Lanolin as it’s super buttery that you only need the tiniest amount! Would definitely buy it full price next time!

I saw "Organic", "Healthy", "Plant-based", and all that kind language and while I'm sure it's better than a generic grocery store brand, we should all be aware by now that seed oils are toxic, they are usually oxidized, damaged, and unhealthy by the time they reach the end consumer and they should not be used by anyone hoping to use/consume healthy products. Unfortunately we can't use this product.

Not sure why - 7 months ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve always used this nipple balm since my older kid was a baby and never had an issue. I always keep one around the nursing chair. The most recent one I opened two days ago contains a black plastic piece that unfortunately I didnt notice till this morning. Not sure if my baby had already eaten some during the night feedings. Returned it back to the store. The associate didn’t seem to care nor did she notify the manager.

It's plant based so no need to worry if baby swallows a little but I always wipe some of it before feeding. No burning sensation, texture is good. Highly recommend.

My new go to nipple balm. I really liked how smooth it went on and had a pleasant smell. Much prefer this one over the tube of lanolin.

Well, I bought it in September 2023 after I had my baby. Just happened to look at the jar I was sent and it EXPIRED MARCH 2023! Love that target sent expired items. Ridiculous!

Mold?

I bought this at the end of my pregnancy and used it for a short time while I was breastfeeding. I no longer breastfeed, but instead of tossing the jar, I kept it and use it on my dry lips like chapstick. I loved it…until I found what looks like greenish mold beginning to grow in the jar. I am the only one that uses it. I keep the jar in my nightstand, so I don’t think it’s a temperature issue. The date on the jar says it’s good for another year. I’m pretty grossed out that my baby could’ve been unknowingly ingesting mold, and annoyed that I wasted money on this product.

Works pretty well but the consistency is a lot more oily and thin than the non-organic version available in the tube so I feel like it’s not as moisturizing. I also would prefer it be in the tube rather than the jar it comes in because it’s more sanitary than sticking your finger in the jar each time.
Plastic particles

I bought this item and have been using it for 9 months. Although it has really worked at soothing and healing chapped nipples, I found pieces of plastic particles in my jar that I have accidentally been allowing my child to ingest. I am not happy about this and have no idea how this could have happened. When I first discovered this I figured it was the cream somehow crystalizing but once I realized that it wasn't dissolving but instead breaking apart into many tiny little plastic film pieces I threw it away. I truly hope this does not have any negative affect on my child who has been ingesting this cream everyday for 9 months.

LOVE this stuff. Light scent. Good texture. Baby doesn’t mind it at all. Was using Earth mama but has a really strong scent. This stuff also lasts really long and is super hydrating. I love to use it as lip balm too. Glass container feels luxurious and less wasteful. I use this as my at home balm because it is glass.

When I opened the cap, I found that the nipple balm was not sealed at all. The foam tamper seal with the ironnical print of "sealed for your protection" was not properly attached. Don't know if this is a product defect or it was opened by someone else before the sale. I will return it when I have time to go to Target again.

I really liked this balm and the organic ingredients. It worked well and helped a ton during the early breast feeding days. I just didn’t like container it comes in. I wish it came in tube that squeezes a little at a time. You have to put your finger in this container and it’s not that sanitary. It can spill easily because the opening is so wide and the balm is kind of runny.
