The LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty 21042 is sure to keep you entertained for hours. Use each brick to build the iconic sculpture that stands tall in New York City. Features the monumental broken shackles, the robe, crown, tablet, and the golden torch. This LEGO architecture statue of liberty makes for a lovely centerpiece at home or workplace.
The Statue of Liberty set is definitely a great addition to the architecture theme and adds to any collection. The build was great and was one that my younger sister jumped straight in to help build. Although the finished product looks great I can’t help but feel that the face of lady liberty is abit plain by just being a flat plate, there is definitely more Lego could have added. There were a few tedious points like connecting lady liberty to the technic brick in the base and the pedastool felt repetitive at times, but the finished look by all means makes it worth it. Build time was abit longer for me as I separate all the bits out as I open a bag but could easily be done in 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Worth the price tag and worth investing in a light kit for the piece. I have added the lightailing light set for the piece and it really lifts the overall design even further.
Got this as a bday gift - It´s a highly detailed statue considering its lego bricks! It was a bit challenging here and there, more so especially when making the "flow" on lady liberty herself It looks so good when its finished though!
Such a beautiful build, truly amazing how the creators used the different bricks to create such a brilliant structure! The base build is repetitive, so creating duplicate structures becomes quick and easy. Much bigger than I expected and so worth the money!
I'm new to this hobby. I always wanted to try building a Lego set. I picked out the Statue of Liberty and I'm so glad I did. As a new builder, I took my time. Love the book. It talks about the history of the statue. I learn to take my time and double check my work, making sure I didn't grab the wrong Legos. Once I was done, I was very proud of it. It's now on top of my fireplace. It's about 17 inches tall and about 2 lbs when done. I'm looking forward in building more Lego kits. Glad I found this hobby!
This was the first LEGO set I bought at a mature age. I had been spotting the architecture sets in various airport Lego storts over the past few years, and finally could not resist. The building experience was great. Very satisfying to see the statue grow, and some interesting techniques used on the inside. Surprisingly little repetition. On the whole a great set. The blank face has been subject to some controversy in the community, but I personally am a fan.
This was a pleasant build. The pedestal is classic Lego and nicely done, The statue is anything but classic. The way designers were able to replicate the drape and folds of the robe, the tablet in the left hand, the raised right foot breaking free from bondage---amazing! The face, that takes some getting used to.
I absolutely love this set. It is easily in my top 5. I love how it captures the essence of the real statue. Looking at it you can instantly recognize what it represents without it trying to be a direct copy. It truly feels like a peace of art.
