Q: is this from a 3rd party or is actually from Target per the leggo company?
submitted by shel - 3 years ago
A: It ships from Target, but 99% chance it will be in a DESTROYED Lego box. They did not even ship mine inside another box so it opened and things were lost in shipping.

Impressive
This is a gorgeous build. I loved how, as you build, you are able to see the background come together. The colors in the booklet were a little hard to distinguish/ID, but aside from that, it was a really good build.

So disappointed
I waited for so long to finally buy this set in the hopes that I wouldn’t have the same issues with pieces that so many have mentioned in their reviews. But that is NOT THE CASE. I didn’t make it off page 1 before I had to submit a request for a missing piece. Page 1!! And I have to wait 8-10 weeks for a replacement. Seriously? I am betting it will take me a year to finish this set because I bet I will have missing pieces in every bag. Lego….do better. For this much money, missing pieces shouldn’t be an issue like this. I’m super disappointed.

Fun but fragile
This was a lot of fun to put together and quicker than expected. However it was just too heavy and weirdly weighted to hang properly and after several falls where I had to reassemble bit of it, I had to give up and set it on a dresser instead.

Best Lego Art Set
This Lego set is honestly the best of their “art” collection and it baffles me that it is not on the website as an art piece. The three dimensionality of it really makes the piece pop out of where it is. Another great thing about it is. The fact that the arm where Van Gogh sits also functions as a balancing beam, thus allowing it to be placed on a flat surface as opposed to be hung on the wall is a huge advantage and amazing design feature. Honestly my favorite Lego set I have purchased in a while.

Fun to build
Took me 3 days to build. I always start by opening first bag and sorting piece by size, shape and color. Once I started it was hard to stop.

Fun Build!
I really enjoyed building this set. The colors were beautiful and for me it was relaxing. Perhaps it was due to the many shades of blue.

Very fun there were a few confusing parts that weren't very clear so youd have to think and some were way to descriptive but very fun!

Disappointment
I never thought I would give a poor review but here it is. This set is a perfect example of what vould easily drive someone from ever building again if this was their first build. Multiple missing pieces, off color pieces which should be never especially in an art piece. absolute awful manual, overcomplicated and out of order steps, just overall unpleasant build. Im left with a lackluster and off color representation of one of the great works of our time. Poor show Lego, do better.

Thoroughly enjoyed
Apart from the background (ie the line of blue tiles that sit behind everything else) I thoroughly enjoyed this build. The way it's constructed and fits together is clever. The outcome is a wonderful picture that sits free-standing on a shelf. For those thinking of attaching to a wall - it is quite deep (front to back), so beware. I did inadvertently build 2 extra rows of blue tiles and only realised when i found i didn't have enough! Had to go back row-by-row to work out where i'd gone wrong

Amazing Set...Challenging Build
I loved this set however there were a lot of missing pieces. I had to improvise a lot to complete it. Overall I was happy with the outcome. Many of the missing pieces or wrong colored pieces were focal points though that can't be over looked. I know no one else will notice...BUT I KNOW!

Missing Pieces
Bag one had missing pieces and I had to look in the other bags to replace it. Bag 2 was missing a green corner piece (my sister didn’t tell me till after she finished bag 2). Bag 4 was asking for some dark blue and super light blue circle pieces but upon opening that bag there were no dark blue circles or the light blue ones at all. Only the regular blue circles (which were needed for a different page). I was super excited for this Lego set as it’s my favorite artist, super disappointed.
