Missing Piece
I was very excited about building this only to find a piece missing in bag 3. I contacted Lego and apparently if you live in the U.S the replacement piece will be delivered between 8-10 WEEKS. Unknown whether additional pieces are missing until I continue the build in late January when the replacement piece arrives.

A BOX SMASHING GOOD TIME SET
The Lego set is great, not one thing to complain about it. BUT…… Target decided to ship it to me in a PLASTIC BAG, the type you see wrapped around clothing that is shipped to your wife all year long. The LEGO Box had damage all around it and looked like it was on the bottom of a pile. I have NEVER had that problem before. ( maybe because it shipped from the North)

Classic charm with modern complexity
I was born in the 90s and I have huge nostalgia for the old LEGO sets. They have an incredible charm, but when I actually rebuilt some of them, I realized that most of them are so simple, and does not meet the level of complexity, which I got used to in the modern sets. Well the Blacktron Renegade managed to perfectly combine that classic LEGO charm with modern building techniques. The building experience is superb, and the play features are extremely great. This is not just a display piece, you can't stand not playing with it. Furthermore, the modular way and the alternate build option, just instantly encourages you, to start thinking about how to customize it, and I think that's the most important thing about LEGO. If I had to mention something minor issue, it would be the use of clips instead of technic connector pegs to connect the modules.

Best Space Battleship Ever
I grew up with Blacktron ever since I was born in 1987. The Renegade was my favorite space battleship. I purchased & built 2 of the Renegade sets in the year 2025 & the build blew me off my socks. I love this set so much that I can’t see it retire but I really love to see Blacktron keep on selling instead of being discontinued. I’m always a Blacktron fan & I always support the Blacktron Fan Community because I have a lot of love & passion for Blacktron. It would break my heart if Blacktron was discontinued. Discontinuation of Blacktron really hurts me & all of the Blacktron Fan Community.

This is LEGO's coolest spaceship!
The original was released a year before I was born and it had been retired by the time I was old enough to have LEGO, so I didn't buy this for nostalgic reasons. It was just too cool to miss out on! The black and yellow color scheme combined with the shape of it is so aesthetically pleasing. The ease with which the modular parts can be rearranged allows you to go renegade and create your own Renegade. It's a fun set!

Best set of the year so far!
Before I bought this set I wasn't really into lego classic space because it was a bit before my time but since I've built this set I need more! The build itself was so fun and intuitive and the overall model looks amazing with so much customisation coming from the connection system for the engines and cockpit sections. Since building this I'm now desperate for more classic space stuff! Kicking myself for never buying the galaxy explorer now haha!

very good remake, terrible clip system
i love this set, i love that we're getting more retro stuff. but the clip system is infinitely inferior to the technic pins to interchange parts of the ship around. the clips can easily snap and you're beter off changing those parts to pins. other than that, please, just release a new wave of classic space or castle instead of these one offs. it would be so much better

Excellent set, love it.
One of the best purchases that I have ever made, but part quality let me down. I had 1 incorrectly molded piece, and multiple that had HUGE seams running through.

My brother collected the blacktron/Btron sets in the nineties and this was a perfect gift for him. He had it built and added to his display that day!

An ode to yesteryears in more ways than one
Not only is it a genuinely well designed remake of a classic, critically for me is many of the design choices and building techniques are at least inspired by older models. I think Lego is in a transitional space with some new sets setting new boundaries with what's possible in sets. This doesn't do that, and it's perfect for that. It genuinely channels the playful spirit of the classic sets it's capturing and once you're done it just begs you to pick it up and swoosh it around like the cool spaceship it is.

The title is appropriate for the item
My son enjoyed the build and has been playing with ever since. As for the cost, it is worth the price, especially when compared tonither sets that cost more yet have way fewer pieces.

Not as good a modern remake as 10497
I was really excited for another instalment in the neo classic space series. However, I was a bit disappointed by the design, but it’s hard to put my finger on exactly why. I really liked the modern remake of the Galaxy Explorer; it had just such high production values, the build quality was amazing, it was a real pleasure to put together. Every part felt extremely thoroughly worked out, but the 10355 Blacktron Renegade doesn’t quite hold up. It's still a pretty good model, it just seemed to lack that attention to detail that made the galaxy explorer such a joy. Unused hollow areas in the underside of the model, awkward landing gear design, slightly uninspiring silhouette?

Seeing this brought back so many memories. It's a beautiful build, updated it to a more modern style. Also, the notes and lore in the book are absolutely delightful
