Awesome but bigger than expected
I loved making this set and I think it has a great design. The moving wings and tail are a great touch with good mobility. The set was larger than expected which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just make sure you check the measurements so you dont have to adjust your shelves or anything. It's a great build to just look at and its currently displayed next to my Neuchwanstein castle, ship in a bottle, and fossil sets.

Awesome set and display
God lego real nailed alot of cool details.in this one. It makes one heck of a cool display piece when finished. I usually rotate sets, but i can always find a place for this one. The building experience is a great as well. The genius behind getting the wings and tail to flap just right, while holding up to repeated playing sessions( i often find myself playing with the wing mechanism when i walk by ) is just a testiment to the skills.of.the designers at lego. The build itself is really really.enjoyable. It takes around an hour to build, but has some tricky bits that required concentration that keeps it all interesting. You get to use those rope pieces too, which are always fun. I love the printed details on the wings and leo. I liked the build so much im going to grab another when its on sale for a friend just to show him what lego is up to.

Innovative Aviation
I had my eye on this set since it was announced. I found it to be a fun and interesting build, and was quite pleased with how the mechanics came together. It is a great desktop piece.

Great small build, excellent display model
Picked the set up after being unsure if it was worth it, happy to report it is. It’s a small build - a couple of hours, but it’s a good rewarding build, that isn’t too repetitive and has some very nice features that come ‘to life’ as you progress. The set does have some play function, which is rather cool, but it is more of a display piece and it does look good displayed.

Plain amazing
This set was an amazing display of the creativity and skill of the lego people. The wing mechanism works flawlessly and the build is just the right size. It's an overall great set but there are a few hiccups. The display stand is a little finicky and sometimes a piece comes off. As for the build, it was excellent besides the fact that the strings and wings had a bit of trouble staying on before the securing parts were put on. Overall, amazing product, would recommend

A Surprisingly Great Buy for the Price!
Honestly, I had no expectations for this set at all. However, it turned out to be really interesting and far exceeded my expectations! The finished piece looks very aesthetic, and I was pleasantly surprised by how the figure moves. For this price, it’s a very, very good purchase!

Horrible
I wasted hours trying to just put the base together. Everytime I got to a certain point, the whole thing broke a part. I've never had that happen with a build before. Totally frustrating and a waste of money.

Worth the build
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always love reading the little snippets of information that Lego includes in the build book! Super easy to follow the directions. It really “flies”!!!! I can’t wait to display this in my science classroom!!

Fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love Legos they’re always so fun to do assembly as your normal easy stuff. I even did it with my nieces so it was easy enough for them to do it too. They didn’t need some guidance, but I would buy something similar again.

Avoid.
This set is absolutely awful. You build bits to the instructions then other parts fly off, you have to put it back together and take it apart so many times. I got so frustrated with the thing I tore it apart. Not exactly a relaxing build. Don’t bother wasting your money.

Lovely Build
This is a lovely build - especially as I built in on Da Vinci's birthday (April 15th). Nice working model of a great invention.

good but unstable
I love this build due to its complexity and the use of rope in the build and how the actual machine is stablised by the end. THE BASE is not stable and breaks with some minor shakes

Fun time!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was so excited to build it he didn’t even give me a chance to take a picture of it all. He loved the challenge and the fact that once done it becomes his own artwork to display.

Best for adults or older kids with adult help
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't sure why this was labeled 18+ at first, but I understand now. Let me just say it's a beautiful set. Very intricate. You need to be precise. You need to be firm but gentle. My 11yo helped, but he needed us there with him. It took 2 adults and one child 2 hours to complete. We messed up a part and had to go back, which was so challenging to fix. But the final result with the moving mechanism is immense. It's notlw in a hugh shelf away from the cats and the 11yo. I'm afraid to let anyone near it, lol.
