A delight
This was a pleasant build and the end result is a beautiful object, really capturing the kingfisher. We in fact saw one in the wild the day after completing it, which I think was a seal of approval from nature!

Looks awesome
Although the build was very repetitive, I guess that isn't lego's fault. Other than that the entrie build looks awesome. I did remove the fish as it doesn't look accurate, but I love the look of the water and the colours of the bird are perfect

An amazing build and worth every penny!
Every aspect of this kit is top notch. The water was exceedingly fun to construct and the Cattail reads are the perfect accent for this extraordinarily dynamic and pleasantly large build. Highly, highly recommend buying this lovely Kingfisher. It feels exactly like a perfectly snapped photo with the benefit of three dimensions. One of Lego's best and what a value!

Lovely
The finished Kingfisher looks lovely. I enjoyed building it although I did find doing some of it, especially the base and water a bit fiddly. I would have preferred the instruction book to have a different colour background as it was difficult to differentiate the dark blue pieces against the dark grey background.

Excellent part of a Lego "naturalist" collection
This was actually the first of the Lego birds that I built [earlier in 2024] and now serves as one of the centerpieces of what has become my bird collection that consists of: set 31170 [3-in-1, built as flamingo] set 31173 [3-in-1, built as toucan] set 31136 [3-in-1, parrot] set 31144 [3-in-1, pink parrot] set 10031 [kingfisher bird] set 21365 [love birds] set 31154 [3-in-1, built as owl] set 31149 [3-in-1, built as birds] set 31384 [3-in-1, as hummingbird] set 31165 [3-in-1, built as penguin] My experience building the various birds has been that the sets have been getting more and more realistic, particularly the Kingfisher, lovebirds, and 3-in-1 set I've built as the owl] I've also built 3 of the 3-in-1 penguin [panda] sets to create something of a penguin colony - For builders who might consider developing a similar "naturalist" collection I would also suggest adding to these the Lego insect collection, the Tyrannosaurus, the evolution of STEM, the planet Earth and moon in orbit and [on my list to purchase] the 3-in-1 space exploration telescope collectively [pun intended] this has become, along with a complete set of the botanical sets I have in my home, a really enjoyable way for me to engage in my interest in science [as a retired dentist and pathologist]

Unstable build
Extremely fiddly to build. I spent ages trying to get the kingfisher to sit on the stand. The underbelly doesn’t fix properly and kept collapsing with lots of pieces falling off each time. Went through the instructions numerous times as I thought I’d missed something. Eventually got it to stay in place but very insecurely attached, the slightest movement and it collapses. Poor design.

Remarkable
I have built many of the 18+ Lego sets, and the Kingfisher Bird has got to be among the most enjoyable one to assemble. I usually build Legos together with my kids at the family table, and I must have expressed how much fun it is to build the bird numerous times. I also love the hint of habitat as part of the set. I highly recommend it, and I hope Lego will offer more birds in the future, such as a cardinal, bald eagle, or other striking birds.

I have many legos and this particular one sits with my insect builds, it blends in quite well and was awesome to create!

Beautiful display set
As others have said, I came across moments when the build was falling apart as I was putting it together a little bit too easily - some of the connections really didn't seem well supported (main issue being the torso, and the tail feathers; the wings and head were totally fine). However I persevered and completed it, and once done it stands alone really strongly, and the wings are easy to pose individually. As my first Lego build, I enjoyed building it a lot, and am very happy with how it looks. I hope Lego bring out more sets like this one, I already have my eye on the insect collection! My set did sadly have an incorrect piece which meant I wasn't able to complete one of the wing feathers, but am hoping to get a replacement piece soon, and was able to finish the build for now, just minus one of the feathers. Still looking awesome!

So good!
This piece is such good value for the price you can find it for. It's massive! I thought it would be smaller for the price. I love it, it took massive 4 hours for me, it's stunning and one of my favourite pieces.

A great build
At 65 I have only just found Lego for adults. Even though my kids and grandkids build a lot, I never had. Throughly enjoying it. This piece looks great in my lounge room.
