David Vs Ferrari
I decided to buy this set for myself as a brithday present. I have built smaller technic sets in the past, such as the Ford Bronco but this just knocks it out of the water. The building posed a challenge, with some of the parts seemingly missing, many of these where simply misplaced in the set. It took me somwhere arround 5 days to build, and im quite happy with it. My only problem being the drivers side door seems to open less than the passenger door;. I have no clue why this is and i need to do some more tweaking to fix it. Other than this, a great set that is a perfect challenge for ones who really want someting that screams "Big ferrari". Though due to this set retiring soon I don't belive many people will get the chance to get it.

A very fun and high quality build
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoyed building this. The attention to detail on the pieces was amazing. I liked how details were printed on the Lego.

Very cool model
I'd give 5 stars but my instruction manual had multiple errors, I spent a good chunk of time checking and double checking, rubbing my eyes and checking again as a result. Otherwise one of my favorite sets.

Finished set looks ok
I'll start off with the positives. The finished set looks okay. The gear assembly works well. Better instructions would help.. It hard to tell where many parts go and the rendering in the printed manual of the blue is hard to see the studs. I used Lego builder for this. I don't like the way the back spoilers (the ones connected with the rubber pieces ) mount. The back that flips up is too heavy for the design and so are the doors to a lesser extent the doors and they don't stay open. I love building Lego especially Technic. I have registered over 65 sets. I don't feel this set has true Technic quality. I previously built the Mclaren P1. It was a much more fun build and the finished set looked much better.

Horrible!
Purchased this set and due to adulting I have only recently had the opportunity to begin the build. This is the first set I tossed all the pieces back in the box and gave up. This set has quite honestly made me question if I will continue dumping such significant time and money into Lego. The directions are terrible, the build is terrible, and it is so easy to get something wrong and not notice until you have to tear everything apart and basically start over. VERY UPSET! Lego price continues to skyrocket and the colors in the instructions are horrible, the build is horrible, It's just absolutely disappointing and I don't recommend this set. It has me so disappointed I haven't ordered anything else that I was planning to purchase.... Oh and Lego you guys need to get it together. Enough with the stickers and terrible instructions. If you can push me away, a life long Lego guy? I can only imagine what you are doing to others.

Disappointing
An extremely tedious build. Too many gears at the begining and it only gets worse. No need for a two speed gearbox or see pistons move. So many little steps that it got to be boring and I had to stop for a few months and come back. The parts bags are the worst! 5+ bags for each step. There are seven.

Great but…..
A great build However it was very frustrating due to 3 missing parts so far… and not completely finished as it is taking quite a long time to get the parts. I now have an incomplete model waiting parts that have been requested as I find them missing. Hugely frustrating considering the cost of this kit. It takes the joy out of it.

A nice looking car
The build itself is challenging with many small parts haha I thought only having plastic wheels cheapened the product

Very nice, but...
The car itself is beautiful, a great representation of the SP3. The details are really great, like the working, shiftable gearbox and functional steering and engine/pistons. The front and rear of the car really capture the design elements of the actual car. The wheels are stunning and really tie the whole thing together. The build was a little more unorganized than other Technic builds. There were multiple bags per step, step 1 had something like 6 bags, so there were hundreds of pieces on the table at once. As opposed to other builds, like the P1, where each step was only a single bag or two. The car also isn't quite as polished as the P1 was once completed. There is a lot more flex in the body and the gaps are bigger than usual. Overall it was a fun build, if not a little on the expensive side. If you can find this on sale or clearance, it would definitely be worth it. At full price it leaves a little to be desired.

Can not registar my Ferrari
I really enjoyed building the product. The assembly was smooth, everything fit together perfectly, and the overall experience was genuinely fun. However, when I tried to register the product, the system told me the code wasn’t available. That was a real disappointment after such a great start. I’m hoping this can be sorted out, because the product itself is great, but the registration issue takes away from the full experience.

Nice build but not solid
I enjoyed building this LEGO set, but during the construction phase, I often thought that the design was very flimsy. When I tried to attach it to the wall for display, the rear bumpers fell, the doors lifted as if without any anchoring and the bonnet of the car was up. It's very disappointing to see that the model is beautiful but so fragile. I even added a couple of pieces to make some elements sturdier. I recommend a quality review of this model, as it doesn't inspire the same quality level as the McLaren P1 or the Lamborghini Sian.

A bit confusing
I've built over 100 lego kits and this one is the only one that had me scratching my head enough times that I'd have to walk away for a day or two to get a different perspective before going on. Overall fun and challenging to build. I was trying to register this model like I've done with the rest of my collection but can't find it anywhere unless it's buried deep in one of the books. Any ideas where it is?

Worst build I've ever done
As an adult man, I have been building legos since I was a toddler. I am an expert builder. This has been by far the WORST build I've ever done. I built the McClaren and the Lamborghini EASILY and had no problems. This build has had several missing parts, incorrect instructions, missing instructions, etc. Just AWFUL. If this was my first Technic build, I'd probably never purchase Technics again.

Amazing Build
This is an amazing build, the design, quality and everything lives up to the ferrai standard. I built this straight after the 42115 Lamborghini Sian FKP37 and i have to say the Daytona is SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Sian set. The level of detail and building experience is on another level. For example, the most stand out part of this car is the front and rear bumper. Lego has done an amazing job capturing the detail and translating it into lego. The experience building this part and seeing the final product is absolutely amazing. Took me roughly 40 hours to build, towards the end (which was the best part) I didn't want to finish it as I did not want this set to send. I highly recommend this set, if you are unsure about the Daytona or Sian then I would definitely recommend the Daytona. For now this is definitely my favourite set of lego, but who knows, the Mclaren P1 might take this spot.

Great Lego project
I enjoyed building the Ferrari Daytona Sp3, #42143. It looks very impressive. I found using the online building guide pictures very helpful. My wife is happy to have many of her Tupperware containers back now that the project is done.
