Q: I followed directions but it didn't foam. What could I have done wrong?

submitted by Erika - 2 years ago

  • A: sometimes if my disposal is particularly gross, i find i need to use a second one, and that one really foams up. i also noticed they tend to get weaker in foaming action as they age, like a bath bomb (both use baking soda). so if you got yours a while ago and they used to foam, that might be why.

submitted bySloane - 3 months ago

  • A: Hi Erika, thank you for reaching out! If the Lemi Shine Disposal Cleaner didn’t foam, a few factors could be at play: 1.Insufficient water flow: Make sure you’re running hot water at a steady stream before and after dropping the pod into the disposal. 2.Pod placement: Ensure the pod is placed directly into the disposal opening for proper activation. 3.Disposal condition: If the disposal is particularly dirty or clogged, it may affect the foaming action. If you’ve followed the instructions and are still experiencing issues, feel free to reach out to us directly so we can assist further! https://lemishine.com/pages/contact. -Lemi Shine Team

Q: Can this be used to help with fruit fly infestation?

submitted by csh - 2 years ago

  • A: Thank you for reaching out! Our Garbage Disposal Cleaner is excellent for eliminating buildup, odors, and grime that can attract pests like fruit flies. While it isn't specifically designed to treat infestations, keeping your disposal clean can help reduce the conditions that allow fruit flies to thrive. For best results, we recommend cleaning your disposal regularly and addressing any other potential sources where fruit flies may gather, such as overripe fruit or food debris.

    Good

Foams up good. The reviews saying it doesn’t aren’t following the instructions. I’ve never had an issue with it foaming up. I like the lemon smell. Smells better than other garbage disposal cleaners that have a heavy chemical smell. This just smells like lemons to me. Does the job well.

U dont have to touch the slime!

I love them. Who wants to blindly stick their hand into a slimy stinky drain? Not me! I never saw them advertised on socials, just purchased these a few times on my own without any expectations. Came here to buy more and was surprised to see negative reviews. Sounds like influencers overhyped a good product or maybe a second run was needed esp if gunk is really built up. They do work for me! I run very little water offset into the drain while it’s cleaning. I usually do it a second time and it really foams up and out of the drain. That’s when it cleans the gross underside of the flexible disposal guard. I have a busy household so I try to do this 1/week. Icky smells are gone and my kiddo thinks it’s the coolest cleaning job ever. They’re expensive but absolutely necessary to clean out the gunk without touching it!

Foams up okay if you put 5 down the drain at once lol. Strong lemon smell but I’m not sure it did anything right actually clean. I might just try baking soda and vinegar next time.

    Didn't work

I saw this product promoted in FB reels. They show foam bubbling up to clean the full disposal. Despite following instructions to a T, this plastic packet just ground up in my disposal - no foam, no cleaning.

Great for buildup and smells great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using Lemi Shine Garbage disposal cleaner for a few months now. This is super effective keeping a good smell and cleaned better then products I’ve used the the past. It’s easy to use and at a great value. Also Great with any buildup you might be having. Works like a charm and will keep using it.

It’s a no for me. It’s displayed like it’s a product that’s gonna last at least a minute when it’s working, that it’s gonna foam up, that it’s going to reach all areas of your disposal, but none of those things are true. It foams for five seconds and then disappears to your disposal. It doesn’t actually ever get a chance to clean nor does it clean the way that it’s displayed. I think there are other products that actually foam up take up space in your disposal that will clean more efficiently. The only good thing about this product is that it doesn’t smell bad. But I would never purchase it again as it didn’t really do anything. The product itself lasted 5 to 10 seconds and it didn’t help with any disposal cleansing or scent. Don’t buy this one. Try a different product.

    don't work

I'm honestly confused how these have such high reviews. I thought maybe I got a bad batch or something but looks like everyone else had the same problem. they don't foam at all. I find it hard to believe these clean the disposal at all because I even broke one open thinking that would work and the powder didn't react at all to the water.

Sorry to hear about this, Danielle. Lemi Shine Disposal Cleaner is designed to be safe for disposals when used as directed and is EPA Safer Choice certified. If the disposal stopped working, it may be due to a pre-existing issue or a reset being triggered. We recommend having a technician check the unit. From Lemi Shine Customer Care team
We’re sorry to hear about your experience, we know how frustrating that can be. Even if the foam isn’t very visible, the cleaner can still be working inside the disposal. That said, heavy buildup or residue can reduce how much foam you see at first. Running another cycle often helps once the initial buildup starts breaking down. You can contact us directly at https://lemishine.com/pages/contact we can help you! -Lemi Shine Team

    Julia
From Lemi Shine Customer Care team
Thanks for giving Lemi Shine a try, Julia. We’re sorry to hear the Disposal Cleaner didn’t foam or seem to clean as expected. In some cases, heavy buildup inside the disposal can limit the visible foaming, even though the cleaner is still working on residue and odor. We recommend rinsing with hot water and running another cycle to help reactivate the foaming action. Please share where you purchased it and more details at https://lemishine.com/pages/contact so we can look into it further. -Lemi Shine Team

Thanks for giving Lemi Shine a try, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience with our Garbage Disposal Cleaner. The foaming action can sometimes be less visible if there’s heavy buildup, but it’s still cleaning effectively. Try running another cycle after rinsing with hot water to help loosen residue. We would like to know more about your issue and help, please contact us at https://lemishine.com/pages/contact so we can look into it further. -Lemi Shine Team
