A: We’ve run our dishwasher twice and the scent remained. Additionally, just took a glass out of the cabinet and it, too, has the scent. It’s been one day.

A: Great question, Yoni. Our Cascade Platinum Dishwasher Cleaner is intended for use only in an empty machine. If the cleaner has been used by mistake with dishes in the cycle, then you should keep the dishes in your dishwasher and run another cycle with normal automatic dishwashing detergent. Q: My dishwasher is at least 10 years old. Is this product safe to use in it? I use Cascade powder, I've never used a pod in it.

A: All of our detergents are safe for use in properly operating residential automatic dishwashers. This includes automatic dishwashers with older porcelain, current polypropylene and stainless steel interiors, and portable dishwashers.

Really worked to clean inside of the dishwasher and now smells great. I was a little worried about all of the reviews that complained of the overwhelming fragrance, we didn’t find that to be the case. I made sure to use the “normal” HE cycle, which takes about 2.5 hours to clean. Not sure if that made the difference, but our washer and dishes all smell great now! No lingering odor at all.

I started using Cascade Dishwasher Cleaner, and wow, it really makes a difference! My dishwasher smells fresh, and all that buildup and gunk around the edges is gone. It’s like giving my dishwasher a little reset, and now my dishes come out even cleaner than before. Super easy to use too, just pop it in and run a cycle. I’ll definitely be keeping this on hand to keep my dishwasher happy and running smoothly

Cascade Dishwasher Cleaner
Cascade Dishwasher Cleaner was picked up for my very stinky portable freestanding dishwasher. It is rather old and has accumulated a scent. I ran vinegar and many household items through and nothing was working. I took a look at these cleaner pods and decided to try them. The price was great compared to similar products. I ran the first one with all the settings on high. It was okay inside. Tried a second time and it was a huge improvement. Not 100% but tolerable. I have run a couple of washes since and plan to use the third cleaning pod in a couple of weeks.

Poor R&D
Wow. Another disappointed load from the dishwasher!! Why did you discontinue cascade complete WITH Chlorox?? Tried every cascade dishwasher product, and NONE touch the coffee stain in my mugs!! Soon, I'll be choosing the cheapest on the market and adding my own bleach at the beginning of the cycle. You had a great product, but the R&D department sure screwed up!

Strong smell sticks to dishes and I can even taste it in my coffee cup. Bought large 115 pacs but won't use it. Will try second rince !

Horrible, horrible smell!
I bought these because my dishwasher had been smelling a tad funky, and the box promised this would "help eliminate ... odors in your machine." HAH! Instead, after using one, not just the dishwasher, but my entire apartment reeks of the most godawful, foul, cheap-perfume stench, and it's too cold to open my windows. I'd much rather have the worst dishwasher funk than this.

We're sorry to hear this, and want to assure you that we have many quality checks to ensure the Cascade dishwasher cleaner leaves your dishwasher clean without a scent left behind. If the dishwasher has a filter, remove the filter and clean it according to the manufacturer's instructions. It's possible dishwasher cleaner broke up lingering food residue which is stuck in the filter. To remove the scent from the dishwasher, fill both detergent cups with white vinegar. If dishwasher isn't designed with dispenser cups, put two cups of white vinegar in a non metallic bowl and place it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Dishwasher cleaner
I love this product!! We run the dishwasher twice a day everyday. The dishwasher starts to smell and baking soda and vinegar help but this product makes a huge difference. I love the scent, and the inside of my dishwasher is left shiny and super clean. I love that and it’s effortless to get the result. Just put the tab in like you normally would and run the dishwasher on your cleaning cycle. I use this about once a month.

My dishes are still dirty!
My dishes are always dirty I end up hand washing them after each cycle. I even rinse them off before putting them in to the dishwasher. I put the pod on the compartment and then there will be times I throw it in either way my dishes still come out dirty. I will be switching pod brands.
