If you are hesitating to buy the litter genie BUY it! It is so worth the money. I love not having to constantly have throw away litter bags. The liners also last so long! I have 2 cats and they last me at least a month if not more.

It looks great. However, as other reviews mention, you cannot clean this easily if litter falls into the actual pail because the pail cannot disassemble. However, I love how it's stainless steel and if we take good care of it we can use for a long time. Add less plastic to landfill. Next generation model should have a detachable bottom portion to make it easier to clean/rinse with disinfectant if holes are in the bag for example. No smell except upon opening the lid.
