The foundation is great as usual, but Mac just did a re-packaging. The shade was way off and very orange so I had to end up getting a different color and the girl had to re-color match me. If you used to use NC 40 I recommend changing to N5.

Not even used for a full week and I've already hit the pan. Been using mac since 2001 and it used to take me at least three weeks until the pan started showing.

Less Product in new Formulation

New formulation is not offers less coverage, it also has less product in it. The new formulation only has .42 oz of product. And the product inside is just dusty, I don't know how to describe it. It doesn't really stick to my skin. I am oily though. Maybe it works better for dry skin. Just not sure why they would reformulate a classic and release it in a subpar version. I'd rather just use Maybelline or Juvia's place powder in comparison to this.

An Ulta/Mac advisor helped me select my color awhile ago and it was perfect coloring and I just opened my new NW18 this morning and as soon as I applied to my face my face was literally orange and looks absolutely horrible and un-natural. This is my 3rd compact and will be looking to change to a different brand.

Ive been using MAC studio fix fluid and pressed powder since 2014 and I now need to discontinue as the reformulation does not sit well on my skin. It gets blotchy, seperates and makes me look old. Im very disappointed in the brand. I truly hope they can make a come back.
New Formula is Terrible!

The new shades do not match up well to the old formula, even when buying the shade that the MAC website recommends according to your old Studio Fix shade. I've been using Studio Fix for over 30 years and am so very disappointed in the new formula. It looks horrible on the skin. It made me look older. The coverage is not as good as the original formula. It makes a mess - the powder is very loose and gets everywhere. And the worst part, after less than a month, I already hit pot in the center of the compact! The original formula would last me at least 5-7 months.
PERFECT coverage!

I used NC35 Studio Fix for 20 years and loved it! The new formula is not the same! The coverage is lighter and it settles into fine lines. As someone older, it no longer gives the smooth finish I relied on. And I haven't been able to find anything that compares to the original. Bring it back please!!!
I would buy it again!

I have been a life-long user of the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. But my latest purchase of the new formula, has been disappointing. Someone at Ulta informed me of the shade/number change and tried to color match me. I bought 2 compacts - one for home and one to carry in my purse. 1. I thought it looked ok in the store, but the more I wore it, it looked orange. I saw myself in pictures as well and it looked really bad! 2. Powder was down to the metal compact base in 2 days! 2 days!!!! 3. I am super shiny very quickly. This was not the case with the old formula. I look greasy now. Yuk! Long story short, and similar to other reviews… The change was bad. We all notice the compacts hold less product now. I will need to find new product to use.

Hello! So i have been using Mac products as my STAPLE products religiously for the last 20 years. (Im 38) I have used the foundations, lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows, liners and face powders my entire life pretty much. They have been my go to. Especislly the studio fix foundation and powder. Me and my twin sister have bought it every single time since then, every new bottle of foundation and powder. But now ive been searching over a year for new liquid foundation since they switched the formula. I had finally ran out of my stocked pile of powders after i had heard a rumor of a new formulation. So i drove over to my ulta and decided, reluctantly, after hearing poor reviews, to purchase this powder. Like other reviews stated, there is much more kick up of powder that flies around in the pan, the coverage is very sheer on its own, and the colors are completely different. Im usually a c4 or c3.5, but the best one i could find match- wise and with the help of the very friendly and nice worker, was nc18. (Ive used that liquid foundation color before, but it was very different from what i remember) So i used the powder on top of my foundation (because ive had to shop around for new foundations since the Fix Fluid changed and i did not like the sample (too much skincare, and i already use my own daily)), and i will say, as a setting powder for just a few hours, it looked decent. Gave a light blurring effect and the color looked good. But, i only got to use it for a week, because the dang thing flew out of the compact and broke EVERYWHERE ON MY FLOOR. Do i want go buy a refill (that i have to venture to an actual store for) that will probably, very easily, fly out of the compact AGAIN? Probably not. Im so sad. Maybe they could fix that design flaw? I dunno. Just sucks. Hope this helps!
If I could I'd buy 100 of them

this USED to be my go-to cause the shade range was VERY inclusive. they had the regular NC shades which were yellow-neutral. C2, C3, C4 etc which were yellow w a litlte pink C3.5, C4.5, C5.5 etc which were peach. c30, c35, c40 etc which were yellow w green aka OLIVE. i am normally C40 which has essentially been discontinued because the new C40 is meant to match C35. mind you, the new C40 has less green and actually pulls peachy. the recommended shade for me in this reformulation is NC38. is this a joke? its straight up ORANGE. ive tried looking around for a new shade and none of them are a match. C45 is too dark. NC37 is too light. theyve matched the powders to the liquid even though the powders had more shades and came before the liquid. the powder shades had a rhyme and reason as to why the shade name correlated with a specific shade. the liquid version they always added in random shades w random names and ruined the shading system so for them to follow the liquid as standard was a horrible move. RIP to my go-to everyday foundation. i no longer have a match

It's a good powder and it does make your make up blast and it does a flawless finish but it runs orange and I've tried multiple different shades and someone with a neutral undertone I don't really experience that and it claims to be waterproof but it isn't and I've tested it multiple times with different products it's a good powder but it doesn't hold up to all of its claims
New formula is disappointing.

I've been using this same product for years and seems they have changed the formula and also with less product. I bought the shade C4 which was my usual but seems way too light and not full coverge like it used to be.

I have used Mac Studio fix for over 10 yrs and they have now changed the formula, and it doesn't work or look the same now. I am so disappointed, now I have to find a new makeup. They should have left the original formula alone.

Even using MAC for at least 10+ years. This powder is basically translucent and provides little coverage compared to the last formula it also is dusty and gets everywhere. Would not recommend. Hopefully they return to their old formula or it’s time to try another brand.
I would buy this product again and again.

I am so impressed by this powder. It's exactly what I was seaching and hoping for in a powder foundation. It's blurring and mattifying wihtout being cakey looking. It really just looks like airbrushed skin. The oil control is definitely NOT 24 hours but that's not a deal breaker for me. I couldn't be happier that I ignored all the reviews for this new formulated powder. I honestly never tried the old formula but I don't miss it. This powder is 10/10 for me!
