I have used this for many years and absolutely loved it, never tried anything else. I received my recent order and it's different…it's orange looking and cakey. I read previous reviews and found out they changed the formula. Why mess up a good thing?
Heads up, folks: re talc in cosmetics

In December 2024 the FDA has proposed a ruling requiring companies to test their products for possible asbestos contamination in talc, a common ingredient in makeup. It seems MAC has gotten ahead of this by getting rid of the talc in their foundation powder, hence the formula change and the wild swing in shades. Good luck to everyone on their quest for new foundation powder, though note well: the makeup you find that works may be in queue for a formula change as well.
Love the new formula

First the new packaging is cute, the colors thank goodness they removed the orangey tones that were in the old one i couldnt use the old version always oxidized and looked orange now i use nc 20 and its so natural looking looks like an actual skin tone so blurring feels so light on skin does not make liquid foundation look cakey 🖤🖤😊

The new formula for studio fix powder plus foundation is awful. I wouldn't even give it one star. I've used Mac foundation for over five years, with the change in the formula I now have to search for a new foundation.
It sucks now…

The shades arent the same anymore, the coverage is absolutely HORRID, and you have to stand over a sink or something because it gets EVERYWHERE. I dont know what they changed, but they completely ruined this product. Im returning it and bever buying again.

I used this foundation religiously for YEARS and they changed the formula, disappointed to say the least. The coverage is almost nonexistent, I have to put multiple layers on to cover anything. The powder is so flaky that it's impossible not to make a mess when using. I sadly have to find a new pressed powder foundation. If you read the reviews, you'll find that the most recent ones that are positive have included that the product was free for review/trial purposes.
Don't buy this if you loved the original

I used the original for almost 20 years, but everything I loved about it is gone. The new shades are too dark and tend to be orange. The coverage is awful and it didn't last more than a few hours. It used to have a smooth finish but the new one exaggerated every line on my face and I looked oily after only an hour. The longer I wear it, the worse it looks. The texture feels horrible on my skin and the cheap sponge just makes it worse. I used the original for so long that I thought this would be just as good, but this is the worst product I've tried in years. I wish I had read reviews first; almost all the positive reviews are from PR reviewers, and those that used the original are having similar experiences to mine. Save your money and find a new brand.

Ive been using the original Studio Fix pressed powder for years. I accidentally tossed my last of the original formula recently (that kind of week, ha), so I had to buy a replacement. Now I'm yellow! Lol, this is not the same thing powder. Why do companies change a good thing?!

Marketing was pressure to produce more revenue and they figure out 1 ounce less product of a different formula, but same price was the best deal. That's why 50% of peope dislike the new formula. Total rip off.
I will buy this product again.

Apparently MAC changed the formula recently. While I appreciate there is no more talc, the colors are no where near what they used to be. Ive been using NC25 for years- and now its too orange. Also does not work on my oily skin AT ALL. Buyer beware!
