Kinda Flimsy seems poorly made. Seat seems unstable and needs more support. Better foundation for the seat would be nice.

Being a short woman (5'3") I needed all the closeness of the seat to the peddles. It is still far but usable. I had difficulties hooking up the tension wire. I don't have much strength in my hands, When I peddle it seems to stick a little and I am hoping over time it will smooth out. Seat is at a good height. Being in Wisconsin in the winter it is an excellent activity.

Hard to Assemble but Worth it

Patience Required - 7 years ago, Verified purchaser
Fairly hard to assemble. Need at least two people for most of assembly. Wires hard to connect to make sure electronics work. One piece of metal VERY hard to remove for assembly. Once assembled, worth it if you need basic bike to do warm up exercises. Dose not compare to bikes at gym

The assembly was easier than I thought it would be when I first opened the package. I examined everything to be sure it was complete and it was; however, the computer or electronic reader for your calories, heart rate, etc was smashed. I found it at the very bottom corner of the box where it had been bashed probably from being thrown. The call back number was great and they are sending a replacement part right away. It feels fairly simple to use and wish I had some kind of video to guide my routine. I made sure it is planted firmly in front of my screen so I can either pedal my way with music or movies. Very comfortable and highly recommend. I will let you know how I do in 6 mos. after using daily and getting stronger.

good first bike - 7 years ago, Verified purchaser
Works well. Seemed most of the complaints came from shipping damage. Mine came Undamaged from fedex. There was no issues in assembly. Great first bike. The only minor complaint was delivery took longer than i anticipated.

Disgruntled - 8 years ago
First, I was not expecting this to come assembly required. Then, once I got the whole thing put together, I found out the "computer" (the little monitor that tells you how far you've gone, calories burned, your heart rate, etc.) didn't work. I contacted the company, and they sent a new one, and that one didn't work either! I checked all the connections, and they were solid. I was very disappointed and ended up returning the bike. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Disappointed

I had reservations going in about this bike but figured $150 (including tax) was not too much of a gamble. But I am sorry I ended up purchasing this bike because the tension settings are severely weak. The dial goes from a 1 to an 8, and 1 is nothing. Well 8 is barely much resistance more. So to spend $150 and and hour and a half setting it up only to find that the bike under performs was a huge disappointment. And at this point I'm definitely not going to disassemble the bike, attempt to pack it back in the box and lug it to the store to return it. So I'm stuck with it. Additional cons: the seat back was compressed in the packing, and so a portion of the cushion in the seat back is permanently damaged. Also, one of the plastic caps on the front stabilizer bar has a hole in it. I don't believe either of these things are detrimental to the performance or use of the bike. Also, 1 step in the directions tells you to assemble part of the seat, and then the bar - but that instruction is wrong. The bar has to go on before the seat. So I had to disassemble that portion of the seat in order to put the handle on. The pros are: it was easier to set up than I thought. The overall bike design is good. Overall I would say save yourself the money and hassle in assembling the bike and just order one of those free standing pedal sets that you can sit in your own chair and do. It seems likely that this would give the same results as this bike. If the tension were better - then this would be a good purchase. But it's not.

It's ok for those who are starting out to exercise not for those bike enthusiast also not for petite people I'm 5feet 1in I can't reach the handle bars because it causes lower back pain, but I could use the side bars all and all we all need to exercise so this is a good way to start out (compact doesn't take up a lot of room)

First night using my new Marcy cycle. It was not as difficult as I expected to assemble. Since I am just beginning to work out I did a half hour, level 3, watched tv and it was great. So quiet, I didn't need to put a rug under the cycle to prevent the cycle moving on my wood floor. Very happy and excited with my purchase!!

Only downside, so far, was the assembly. Tools and instructions were great, implementation not quite as easy as implied. Good value for money.
