Poor quality unfinished plenty of splinters
I am disappointed in the quality. Unfinished wood with plenty of splinter points. Overdone with glue running everywhere. But mainly, you can’t sand a kids toy? Really?

A treasure that lasts and lasts
I bought this barn 12 years and five grandchildren ago. Each of them loved it and played with it any time they were here. All the animals, the fence and ladder are still looking good. I will buy another set of animals, though. We need some chickens, a horse, and at least one more goat. This one, I'm told is lonely.

Another fun toy, but why no latches of any kind? No latch to keep the halves together, (and to help keep all the pieces together), no latch on the barn door, (to keep the horsie from getting away). Great toy, IMHO, but sadly a missed chance to add depth along with learning and development opportunities to this toy. Oh, comes with a far out Psychedelic Sheepdog, too !🐕

Cute barn, weird animals.
I like the barn, I wish it had a latch. The animals are horrible. I don't understand how Melissa and Doug could pair such poor quality animals with such a nice barn. They are ugly, they have weird seams and odd paint. See photo for the dog that's neon yellow for some reason. I would buy separate animals if you get this as a gift.

Quality is not what I’m used to for Melissa and Doug. Paint is uneven with random “touch ups” that just make it look worse. The wood is splintered and it hasn’t even been unwrapped.

Fell apart within a couple weeks
My toddler son played with this for less than a month after we got it for him for Christmas and it’s already completely falling apart. Small wooden pieces coming off everywhere, pegs falling out that held pieces on, glue that is pretty much just paint seeing as it hasn’t held anything on it. Can’t return it because it’s damaged, don’t waste your money on this.

Melissa and Doug Barn
Poor quality for the price. Rough spots that cut my child’s hand. The animals were the wrong color and some were poorly painted, as seen below. The dog was featured as grey, tan and black. The one we received was orange and blue? There was spots of glue all over the barn. There were also many spots of paint scuffs and other poorly sanded patches. Very very disappointing. My children loved the toy but for the poor quality and high price I would never purchase this again.

Cute barn, ugly animals
The barn is pretty cute but the animals are terrifying, I plan on replacing them with farm animals from Schleich Animals. The border collie has blue and orange paint on it for some reason? And the other animals are just janky with creepy eyes. Luckily my daughter is only 2 so she hasn't noticed, she loves it.

Love you're little barn. The kiddo's spend hours playing and pretending they're farmers. I made one a year or two ago and it got broken. Nice to have a place we can do a short cut. It's easier when you make it. Lol

My two-year-old Loves this! The barn is open enough For her to put things And take back out . She loves to put the animals in the windows And Look at them peeking out from the other side. Also works very well with other M&D farm animals & ppl. We also use the M&D (mickey mouse) train set to pick up animals and ppl and go around the farm.

Great open ended toy, but could use minor improvements
My son ADORES his barn! He plays with it pretty much every day. I love that he gets to use his imagination with it all the time, but there’s a couple things that would make it better. One, when you close the barn it is so simple to slam it shut, and it is so loud when it slams and it always scares the crap out of me. I’m sure you could stick some kind of soft stopper in it to stop that though. I also wish there was a latch to close the barn so transporting it could be easier. Aside from those minor nitpicky things, it’s a wonderful toy!
