If you can, buy another blend from this brand
I usually buy this brand for the no waste blend. I tried this one because it was on sale. However this one is not as good as their other blends. I know farmers use peppers in their chicken feed so I assumed there would be no issues. However I noticed an obvious drop in number of birds coming to my feeder. The ones that did come, didn’t stay as long when I started using the blend. I’ve had to refill the feeder less than usual and it’s taking longer to finish the bag. It’s definitely being eaten, just don’t attract as many in my area.

Great blend, birds enjoy it, has a hot pepper taste, does not deter squirrels
This is an excellent blend of bird food with a good mix of ingredients that are natural and healthy for birds. The cardinals love this and keep coming back for more, with other little birds coming as well. Unfortunately, this does not deter squirrels and they come to enjoy this as well. I tried it myself and it does have a strong hot pepper taste and flavor. It is a good option, but don't expect squirrels to stay away.

My birds love it!
I have to share how incredible this bird seed is! My Cardinals can't get enough of it! The wild birds in my area know me well, and they went absolutely wild when I opened the bag. I decided to sprinkle some in the grass for now while I wait for my replacement bird feeder, and let me tell you – as soon as I did, all the little feathered friends came out for a delightful snack! It was such a joy to watch them enjoying the feast! It does smell spicy, which is expected. It a great mix.

A Fun Option for Bird Lovers
This is a really fun option if you regularly use bird seed. It offers something a little different, in that there is a spicy oil coating the seed that keeps non-bird critters from eating it. There is a warning on the package to wash your hands so your skin doesn't get irritated, but otherwise, it's just like using other bird seed.

It's a hit in my yard
I wasn't sure how well this would go over in my area, but I decided to try it out anyways, and so far the response from the birds has been great! They really seem to enjoy the food (except the sunflower seeds?) and come back every day for more.

We've been buying the spicy bird seed online and it was a lot more expensive. This spicy birdseed keeps the squirrels out of the bird feeder along with keeping rats and mice from coming for the seed. The wild birds LOVE it!!

This food seemed to be good quality and my birds did eat it all. I will say that it seemed to take them a bit longer to finish it as compared to other mixes I have fed them. Did not have any issues with squirrels.

Great bird food!
This blend of super nutritious seeds and nuts is perfect for birds and other forms of wildlife. The bag is of good value with several pounds of quality ingredients. The flavors seems to be great since it attracts numerous birds into my backyard. It’s a great product that I would buy again to feed birds! I highly recommend this bird feed!

Interesting bird food!
I was so excited to receive this hot pepper blend bird food. I found it very interesting as it contains hot pepper and didn’t think that would be the type of food birds would enjoy. I recently purchased a bird feeder with a camera so I can’t wait to see what types of colorful birds this food will attract.

Great blend
Great product. Attracted several birds and kept away the squirrels that hang off my feeder. A good mix of a variety of seeds, too. Only drawback is we can’t let our young children fill the feeder with this like we usually do

The point of pepper birdseed...
As birdseed, yeah, it's great, but birds aren't that picky. The whole idea behind pepper birdseed is for it to be a deterrent for other greedy critters, which this absolutely was not. After leaving the feeder empty for about a week, I purchased this in store 3/17, put it out the next day, and within days our gluttonous local squirrel found his way back AND we got the added bonus of a rat. This is the first brand we've tried, though, so I'll try pepper blend from a couple of other stores before giving up on the idea. However, this is not the one.

Great Bird Food!
I absolutely love this birdseed. It attracts all kinds of interesting wild birds to my backyard feeder. It also is nice and spicy so it keeps away in a rodents and squirrels because they don’t like the spice. I really really like this Birdfeed a lot!

It's just bird seed
The birds by me seem to enjoy this seed mix about the same as any other seed mix. I didn't notice a difference in type of birds. Where im located we get a nice variety. This 4.5 pound bag I was able to fill both of my feeders half way. Not sure if its worth the price. do remember gettting a 10 pound bag, diffrent seed mix and brand, last year for the same price.

Colorful Bird Food
The Melody Select Hot Pepper Blend Wild Bird Food is a generously-sized bag of food made specifically for various types of birds. This food has a variety of kernels that are supposed to attract birds and we have set up our birdhouses for the spring with this. Love the color variety too.

Bird lovers buy !!!!
If you are a bird watcher and have a bird feeder - this product is great. And if your bird feeder is anywhere raccoons or squirrels like to steal food, you’re doing to love this as well. The birds love it! Note that because of the spice, you’ll want to wash your hands after touching. I received this for free for my unbiased opinion.

Epic fail- kept the birds away
My mom had visits from blue jays, cardinals and many other birds daily until we tried this food. The food was placed in various bird feeders in our yard but instead of coming around the birds stopped coming and she said one day one just sat in a tree from a distance and she watched it hoping it would come by but it didn’t. She went back to her usual bird seed and they flocked back so it was definitely the food. Bummer.

Birds like it
The birds seem to like this blend as well as others I have used. It flows nicely in my feeder. I am not sure if the spice deters squirrels yet, but it hasn't detered any of my usual birds. I didn't notice a spicy odor when pouring it into the feeder, so it must be subtle?
