Used Android to Pair Headset

4 out of 5 stars
Would recommend
Lane - 29 days ago
This was the SECOND Quest 2 Headset that I returned back to the store because I kept not being able to get the headset to pair to the Meta Quest mobile app. I followed all of the trouble shooting suggestions for pairing the headset. I even emailed and then verbally spoke to a Meta customer service agent for assistance, but nothing was working. Then I remembered that the Meta agent asked if I had only tried pairing the headset while using my iPhone 6s, husband’s iPhone 7 and our iPad Air 2s? The agent didn’t actually come out and say it, but I read between the lines and figured that maybe I should try using something other than our apple products to pair the headset. So to try out this theory, I purchased a THIRD Quest 2 Headset and an inexpensive Android tablet, and wa-lah! The headset was finally able to pair and it was seamless. I wished that Meta would just make “use an Android device” as part of their trouble shooting guide. It would’ve saved me a whole lot of frustration! The Meta Quest 2 Headset is a lot of fun.

Too Cumbersome

Xander - 1 month ago
There is no customer support. If you have an issue on your IG or FB account, it will transfer over to your Meta account rendering the device inoperable. But when you try to fix it, you have to download more apps like whatsapp and even then your account will be blocked for spam due to system glitches. No e-mail or customer support numbers. It's a Ponzi scheme to make you download as many apps as possible. The VR headset is fun. But only until a profile problem happens, then it's useless. Factory reset and using a new account does not work either as it remains linked to the locked account. Save yourself the trouble and look for a different company's VR headset.

The Oculus Quest is a fantastic, affordable headset that's perfect for someone who can't devote thousands to something like a vive. It's setup is easy and efficient, the battery is long lasting. The only issue is that the elite head strap is basically required for long VR sessions so your head won't get sore/ the headset stays in place. Otherwise, great purchase!
