Description
The Metropolis Floor Lamp is a sleek, contemporary style with a dramatic black nickel finish and elegant frosted glass bowl shade. An Adesso patented 300 Watt Double Socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150 Watt incandescent or LED bulbs which provides approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the shade cup to adjust the brightness. This lamp has a black cord and is smart outlet compatible. Bulbs are not included. Use incandescent bulbs up to 150W or dimmable led bulbs (DO NOT USE: 3-way bulbs or CFL's)

Q: The answers make it sound like you MUST use two 150 watt bulbs. You can use less can't you, like two 60 watt bulbs for example?

A: No, you can always put a lower wattage light bulb into a higher wattage rated fixture.

Q: I’m confused. The paperwork that comes with the lamp says use cfl bulb or incandescent bulb yet this set says do not use cfl bulbs. Which is it?

A: Thank you for pointing this out. You are able to use the appropriate CFL bulbs. This lamp will work for either CFL or incandescent with the appropriate wattage.

Awful product. Stopped working. Luckily before the 90 day return period. On/off switch was sketchy from the beginning, but then just stopped working altogether. Couldn't turn off lamp or adjust lighting. Only way to turn it off was to unplug it. Will try to return it, even though the box is long gone.

Refined style and finish to this lamp. Having searched for many on line and in lighting stores, this is impressively stylish. As the only light for a guest bedroom, and concerned with the lumens output, I simply ordered two 27 watt dimmable LED bulbs, 3500 lumens each, and they are well contained within the glass bowl and light up the room perfectly.

I was able to catch this item on sale. I'm extremely happy with this high quality floor lamp! It's sturdy with weight & heft behind as it stands true. The glass dome is frosted and makes my Philips Hue A19 Color Ambient lightbulbs "shine" looking great! (It takes 2 bulbs) The Art Deco design is captured beautifully...It came in perfect shape when I received it from shipping with easy assembly. *the only con I came across is that I could not find a matching desk lamp

Good, but some quality issues
We like the look, finish, and solidity of the lamp, and the fact that it uses two bulbs (each up to 150W incandescent) means it produces a tremendous amount of light. However, we had a serious issue with the first lamp we ordered. It was almost certainly a returned item, as it was covered with scratches, and the base was packed backwards, such that part of it (the stem) pierced the shipping box and was damaged. Off-puttingly, there was also a lot of hair clinging to the packaging, including some that was underneath the tape used to tie up the packaging so that we knew it wasn't our own. It appears this product is drop-shipped by Adesso (or a distributor), so it's disconcerting that a clearly damaged piece was sent to us. Fortunately, returning at the local Target store was as pain-free as always. We decided to try ordering once more, and fortunately, this piece arrived with an intact box. The piece was packed properly, and other than a small blemish on the silver circlet on the base, is in great shape.
