This is an advanced kit. I have been working with resin since 2008, and the people complaining and rating this kit low are beginners that just don’t know what they’re doing. It takes longer to cure, it’s harder than you think to get out of the mold but it’s not impossible. It’s made in the only way possible for an item if this shape. The molds work great, the set is engaging and the lore was done justice with these tiny weapons. These are more expensive than the regular miniverse due to the licensing but they are just so cute. There is also enough resin and powder to make more than one in case you first attempt failed. In my opinion, these are not for children or inexperienced adults.
Avoid this terrible product.

Waste of money. It’s very difficult to get the glitter and resin into such a tiny mold. It’s nearly impossible to tell if the resin is even going all the way to the bottom of the mold. The resin doesn’t seem to set. I ended up throwing it in the trash.

I bought two of these because I am a big LOTR fan. I thought it would be a fun little craft to do. I got two Stings. After 3 days the resin still hasn't hardened. What a gigantic waste of money considering it costs $10. stupid stupid product. Do NOT waste your money! I want a refund, honestly.

Resin didn’t really cure at all. My husband got the axe and you couldn’t even put it together to make a finished product. He had to throw it away. Extremely disappointed:(

I followed the instructions but the sword mold I got is so thin and when I tried to pull it out, it broke off just a little after the handle and was ruined. I won't be buying these again.

I bought two of the lord of the rings balls, ended up with a sword and an axe. The instructions said to leave the resin in the sun for an hour, i left them in direct sunlight for over 3 hours and the resin never cured at all.

This kit is great if you already have your own resin and whatnot, but if you are just getting this to make a LoTR sword you should just put it back on the shelf. The resin included seems to just never cure, almost like it was incomplete from the factory or a hardner was supposed to be mixed in and was just never added to the kit.

As a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan, I was so excited to see that Miniverse did a LOTR series!! It did not disappoint! I was thrilled to get the shards of Narsil (which match my tattoo lol) and had no issues putting it together. I set the sword out to set in the sun for a couple hours and it worked like a charm. I didn’t run into the issues that other reviewers had, at least not with this particular sword. I can’t wait to buy more! Perfect addition to my Tolkien bookshelf display! The packaging was also SO detailed, it even came with a mini map of Middle-earth.

I love lord of the rings but I feel like this kit could be better. I've worked with resin before and even had to mix the resin I had with what I got in order to make the kit work. I love how they gave me multiple sword hilts to try to make this multiple times. But it's almost like they knew that the first attempt would fail. This was fun but it would have been more fun if some of the stuff they give you was more tailored to working than just for the appearance of working (if that makes sense). The picture was taken was of the projects final product once I modified it to work.

Messy. You need to have prior knowledge of how to work with resin to make use of these. The tiny molds are so hard to squeeze resin into without bubbles. Even tapping them on the counter after filling doesn't work. AND the resin doesn't fully cure. It stays flexible and sticky. Also you have to leave it in the mold for at MINIMUM an hour. Nobody has time for that. Anyway, fun concept, but the materials are too hard to work with for this to be worth it.

Super cute! Loved all the details. We got Sting and Theoden’s sword. Cured them under my UV nail light for about 5 minutes and it cured perfectly. Hardest part was unmolding them, but if you read the directions first it helped a lot.

I’m a huge mini verse fan and lord of the rings fan. I was super excited to try this out. However both me and my partner got the same exact set (white knives) and both of us attempted to do it separately. We both failed because either the resin didn’t harden at all (me) or the resin did harden but broke off in the mold (him.) Even while making it it was extremely difficult.Awful and $20 down the drain. The Harry Potter collection was way easier!

If you're having issues with the resin drying, try curing it in layers. Pour some in the mold then put it under UV and do that again 2 or so more times to have it fully cure. I love all the new series coming out right now and it's a shame that they are disappointing so many fans. I hope this tip helps a little.
