Midea 10000 BTU DOE Smart Inverter U-Shaped Window Air Conditioner for spaces up to 450 sq ft

Despite the recall and subsequent repair needed, I still want another one of these. They are the only model to fit our window design with minimal clutter.

It looked very good I had less than a month that I bought it and I received an email where this air had a call that it was wrong I proceeded to make the claim and so far I have run out of air for waiting for my money they are very irresponsible in the form of claims I do not recommend it

This is an excellent unit. We live in Florida and set up a gym for my wife in the garage. We insulated the garage and out one of these in the window and it really keeps the garage cool. It is a real workhorse as we just set it on 72 and let it run. Occasional cleaning/inspection of the filter is all we have done. Really like the design, too, as most of the noise is outside due to the U shape. Very smart design. Been running for 2 years without a problem. I know about the recall and will choose the repair option as, again, we really like the job it does for us.

The Midea 10,000 BTU U-shaped Air Conditioner an impressive combination of quiet operation, energy efficiency, and smart home compatibility. Absolutely, I would recommend the Midea 10,00o BTu U-Shaped Smart Inverter Window Air Conditioner to friends and family. Its quiet performance is perfect for homes with children or light sleepers, and the energy savings can significantly cut down on household costs. The smart features and open window flexibility make it a versatile and userfriendly option for any household.

AC Cooling is great and quite but Midea is disorganized with documentation (nothing for remote or smart control features) and with functionality. Requesting support for registered product requires you to enter model & serial that they already have. The dry feature has no settings (like humidity level or dew point) and Auto setting is only between cooling or fan excludes switching to dry when appropriate. Not well designed for mold control.

I bought my unit about a week ago, and installed it on the same day in my bedroom. Game changer! Very quiet. Very efficient. And the phone app that goes with it makes operating the unit so much easier (and better).

I have my Midea Airconditioner now for 5 years and I still love it. No trouble at all. Have to clean it a couple of times a year but that is regular maintenance.

It would have been very simple to support wider windows (mine is 60 inches) or make a kit available for those that needed to buy one. Having to kludge something together so my garage is actually livable was a real pain.

Only runs at half power unless it’s over 90 degrees outside. Not trying to cool the outside trying to cool indoors, so why is this the case? Does not dehumidify well and fan is really loud like a helicopter sometimes

Filled with mold and slime around the fan after less than two months of use. I cleaned the filter each week and the a/c was installed by a professional. There is one drain hole but the instructions say to only drain the unit before storage so its constantly filled with water that has nowhere to go. I will never buy one of their products again.

Just installed the 10k BTU A/C in the window! Fairly easy installation. Very pleased with the results! Very Quiet & efficient! Love this product!

This is AC is great... when it functions. However, Midea chose to cut a lot of corners for the sake of one innovative design choice. No proper drainage holes leads to a fishy smell VERY quickly, a cheap quality remote which barely functions, and the notorious EC07 code which can be triggered in even brand new units. Even so, Midea has opted NOT to acknowledge their product's manufacturing defects, instead more or less hoping their customers will just buy a new unit or not make too much of a fuss. Let me put it this way. At the rate people are getting EC07 issues, there's a good chance the u-shaped units will get recalled soon enough. Yes, it's that bad. Don't fall for the marketing hype. This thing is NOT designed for longevity or with the customer's best interests in mind.

This unit is horrible it leaks in your inside wall. One person told my son to just let it leak and you can repair your wall later. That's terrible!!! When my husband called the company to get help the lady who answered the phone was a foreigner and couldn't even speak English very well. She wouldn't let my husband speak with a tech. What a mess!!!! Why would you put a plug where it drains in the window? There is no way to fix this mess. They don't offer a drain plug to redirect the water.

This u shaped air conditioner was a breeze to install. We have a house with older windows and this unit went in with no trouble at all. I love how much more secure it feels with the window closed further AND I love how much more energy efficient it is to have so much more of the window closed than with traditional shaped units. After a quick installation following the instructions, this unit was ready to go and cooling down our back room really quickly. The thermostat is really effective and keeps the room at the preset temperature really efficiently. I have noticed a drop in our electric bill compared to last year with a less efficient window unit. The remote is very convenient and easy to use. I also really love the humidity control this unit allows you to have. My husband has several guitars in the room we use this unit for and it helps keep the humidity at a safe level for his guitars, no matter the conditions outside. Overall this is a fantastic unit that's designed well, easy to use and energy efficient! I'm so happy with it!

It cooled down the front of our house so good! I must say my family and I were thrilled when finding out I'd be receiving this item! we live in Louisiana, so having this during hot summer months as well as for power outages due to hurricanes and being able to hook this up to a generator will be amazing!

Just got it and broke down within a week don't recommend people getting it can't even find the pieces

It was super easy to install as it came with all the brackets and foam pieces to secure it in the window. It is super quiet and cools off my living room so fast! This is the best window unit we have ever owned. I just can't get over how quiet it is! You almost can't even tell it's on because you can barely hear it. I love that you can control it with the app or the remote. It gets so hot here in the summer so this is a blessing! I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for an AC that is quiet and works quickly to cool down your space.
