Midea DUO 10,000 BTU SACC Smart Inverter Portable Air Conditioner, Grey

After the product arrived in a jacked up box like someone dropped it, I finally got it unpacked and installed and was excited to turn it on when all of a sudden it starts making a jackhammer sound so loud that I have to turn it off within seconds so I don’t wake my neighbors up. Now I have to call to get service and pray I don’t have to repack and return a 75lb brick. I won’t place any blame yet and will update the review, should the situation get any better. But currently, it is dead on arrival and I’m less than impressed.

The controls are easy to use. I monitor the electric usage. Right now it's 93° outside and 78° inside and it's using less than 800 watts. When it needs to it uses as much as 1100 watts. An amazing savings over my other A/C that uses 1400 watts any time it's on to cool the same space. Midea Duo is a lot quieter too. That said; the sqft coverage, area it cools, is not quite as much as they say it is. "blows cool air up to 26 feet away, reaching every corner of your home." has not been my experience. What it does is create an area of coolness in front of the unit extending a radius of 6 or 7 feet. Perfect for my small bedroom. Additional fans help it reach the corners. Possibly if you have a home that is open space 26 feet long it would work that way. What could be better: the word "Portable" implies it works in a variety of types of locations. Not that many. The one set up described in the manual is doable. What if you have something like a big old radiator in front of the window? The duo tubes will extend 4 feet or so up from the base. Despite the accordion design they are not very flexible, but will reach over the obstacle. The window interface is the problem. It is not designed for any stress whatsoever. Meaning that if the Duo tubes have to stretch at all to reach the window the adapter that clicks into the sheet of plastic you insert into the open window won't hold at all. The sliding window adapter comes in 3 parts so every thing will fit neatly in the shipping box. They should have sucked it up and made it one substantial piece. It is constantly falling apart and leaking air. I'm having to reinforce the seams with industrial grade duct tape. Also where it meets the window insert. The little clips to hold it in place are a joke. Where the adapter meets the Duo tubes will have to be taped also. Maybe tonight after it cools down outside I can tape it all together as one airtight piece. Reinstall it in the window. I

Bought this on a Friday and by Monday I returned it due to the clips both holding the adapter clamshell together and those holding the adapter into the window being too weak to hold. When I was able to actually get them to hold in place the unit worked fine but took forever to cool my 150 sq ft room. It ran all the time. Chatted with support to see if I could get replacement hose connections but they said it would take 2 months.

So far, it's working well to cool a moderate sized room. Humidity here is high, and after about 10 hours of use it still does not appear to have a full condensation reservoir. I'd buy it again, though I'm disappointed in the lack of an online user/installation manual.

So many features such as, remote control, Bluetooth, google assist and smart home. The color is perfect for my decor it's not that hideous white. The vent swings up and down in its own or you can have it stopped in the direction you prefer. Dual hoses, are perfect for keeping that hot air out that can accumulate from using a portable AC. The unique 1 piece hose that is connected to the actual AC it's designed so it doesn't kink. Super quiet, I would say it's as loud as your ceiling fan on high speed, definitely quieter than a box fan. The product came with everything you would need except the screwdriver, the weather stripping and foam for the window, the screws etc even batteries for the remote. The installation was easy, love that the hose clips right into the window insert. Definitely would buy another one for my other room!

Dual hoses are needed (intake & exhaust) for any portable a/c to prevent a negative pressure situation. This unit has bundled them into one semi-rectangular expandable tube. Inside the they are separated but it's done very well and because of this doesn't look unsightly. The unit came with everything needed to install in any window including weather stripping and window security brackets. The unit has 4 modes. Cool, Dry, Fan & Auto. In Dry mode you may need to empty a water reservoir but the until comes with a hose and it can pump it out up to 6 feet high. In Cool mode it is unlikely to need to be emptied. It comes with a huge detailed remote that I have messed with a few times but honestly I'd much rather use the app from my phone. It's easier to use and you can set up schedules. The app also ties with a weather service so not only will it tell me the inside temperature but it tells me outside temp and humidity as well. The unit works very well. It does a fine job of cooling and adjusts fan speed very well. I am very impressed with how quiet this unit is compared to other units I have used, my 8 year old daughter even commented on it. I did receive this product for free in exchange for reviewing it. So far I am very happy with this product and am consider getting another for a room upstairs.

The midea duo is a solid portable unit that definitely cools a room. It has a good amount of pieces and the installation did take awhile. I would totally say it was worth it. It isn't loud so that is nice. The remote comes in handy and easy for a child to work on their own. I would definitely recommend!

We live in the desert Southwest and have central air. In order to cool the master bedroom off enough to sleep we had to cool the entire house down to 72 degrees from our normal setting of 80. This unit is quiet, efficient and surprisingly easy to set up. Our electric usage has dropped dramatically. I cool the bedroom down to 70 while leaving the rest of the house at 78 at night. It has paid for itself, I sleep next to the unit and it is exceptionally quiet compared to a window unit. A best buy for sure!

The QR code in the installation book was perfect for someone of my low skill set. Even with the video setup was a little clunky. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family is beyond exited to have Midea duo portable air conditioner, to the arrival the product was easy to eject from the box ( best to have two people), came with some parts and instruction manual, as well with digital remote (batteries were included), took us less then 20 minutes and the Midea was ready to cool our house in Florida, as well it's portable, you can use it in any room or camper and the window shields come with the different sizes you can easy to measure to your individual windows, to mention you can connect through the Midea Air app and your Alexa would recognize this product and you would use voice command to change the settings, also you can heat the house too, all the necessary adding come with it, most what I and my family enjoys is that you can set the air mode and put it on timer, show's temperature and most you can put it on lock mode from the littles in the house, overall is a great product to have in your home, cool air is a must in hot summers, recommend and 10 out of 10.

It's weighs about 80 pounds but has wheels for easy portability and it looks great in the room and sturdy. This product comes with a very nice remote control and an easy to install and use app that allows me to control the air conditioner via wifi. The only installation requirement is to set up your windows with the attachments provided and you can do that easily by looking at the manual (but social media videos are even easier). As soon as the device is turned on you can enjoy the powerful airflow from Midea DUO 10,000 BTU SACC Smart Inverter Portable Air Conditioner that makes the air 10 degrees cooler and more comfortable in less than 1 hour. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the prettiest air conditioner I've ever seen! Because it's black, it just kind of melts into the background and doesn't stand out like white air conditioners. I'd also imagine that you won't notice when it gets dirty as soon because of it. I can't say for sure, mine hasn't gotten dirty yet. It works better than advertised and really cooled of the space I put it in. There's so many features that I haven't even tried yet! My favorite is the "swing" which is like oscillation on a fan, but it swings the vents up and down. You can feel the air circulating from across the room! It comes with a very chic remote with an LED screen that you can control it and even set your favorite setting to just click on. I will say the remote is white and not black, but that didn't bother me, it's still pretty. There's an app where you can control the ac with as well. If I ever need another portable ac I'm definately buying another one of these!

I really appreciated the way Midea designed the box! I was able to just slide the top off and not have to lift the air conditioner up and out of the box! 2. I loved that the instructions included QR codes to watch instructional videos on how to set up the air conditioner. 3. I have a vertical window and was amazed by how easy the set up was. You do have to cut several pieces of foam and tape but it wasn't hard. Once we had the window plate installed all that was left to do was connect the hose to the window! The hose is stiff. I had to pull up on it as my husband tried to clip it into the window plate. 4. We plugged it in and pressed power. We immediately heard a loud clicking. It was very loud and sounded like the air conditioner was going to break. We could see something white flying around in the fan blades. We shut the power off with hopes of trying to retrieve whatever was flying around inside. The problem was once you shut down power the automatic fan swing closes and you can't manually move it. We turned power back on and luckily the flying object ricocheted onto a small ledge inside. We were able to carefully get it out and that solved the noise problem! If we had not been able to retrieve that plastic piece we would not have been able to use the air conditioner as the noise was so loud and annoying. 5. we turned it back on and was pleasantly suprised with how quiet it was even with the fan on high. 6. I love the inverter! I took the air conditioner outside to drain after running it solid for 3 days even though it didn't have the empty code yet. there was maybe 1/4 cup of water in it. The inverter really works well and pulls the water and hot air out through the double hose. All in all I love this air conditioner. If Midea could investigate their manufacturing process and remedy what's going on with that little plastic piece I wouldn't have 1 complaint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in an older house so AC takes forever to get to the upstairs. I put this in my bedroom and turn off the ac during the night. It's amazing. I saved so much money already it would of bought this years ago. It cools the whole room really fast. It's says 450 square but my room is bigger and even reaches to my master bathroom. It's annoying with the window, to place it where I wanted but its save money so I just have to deal.

First, it looks sleek and modern sitting in our living room, and has wheels so it can be moved easily. It also cools our large living room very efficiently and is very very quiet. If you've used window units in the past you know they can be quite noisy. By far my favorite feature though is the app. I can turn my AC down before I get home so I can have a nice cooled off home which is essential with Texas summers!
