The range isn't that good,even with the accessory antenna. It gets the weather channel well, but overall it's disappointing

Terrific radio. Compact and well designed. Easy to set up for use with regular batteries, rechargeables, or with vehicle power.

Terrible reception & out put unless you are right next to someone...then I suggest talking thru your windows

This is a very interesting radio, what I like best about it is the flexibility you can use it in the car and out. It is Great. 👍

I'm a local driver here in a large city, also travels 47 miles of interstate back and forth, I thought this radio would give me peace on mine and most of all a heads up on traffic situations especially during rush hour, so far all I ever heard from this radio is the weather channel, this radio is totally useless to me and a waste of my hard earned dollars, I will not recommend this radio to my worst enemy unless that like listening to the weather, I have bought two antennas still nothing, Midland 75-822 would have been the perfect thing in my case.

Very cool,compact and easy to setup. Haven't used it that much yet but seems to get the signal out there for a small handheld unit. Unfortunately it does not come with the vehicle antenna and you DO need it for in vehicle use.

Just over a year ago I received my 75-822 Portable/Mobile CB Radio. This is a unique product that provides a quick system to switch from vehicle-based to hand-held operation using CB frequencies. The automotive configuration puts all the power and controls in the handset, requiring only a source of power and an antenna cable to be incorporated into the vehicle. This allows for one of the least intrusive designs, avoiding the need to drill unnecssary holes, run extra power cables, or allocate precious cabin space for a bulky head unit. In the event you need to leave the radio, or even set out on a hike or walking job requiring a CB the radio can quickly detach from the automotive adapter and clip onto the battery pack. The battery pack is a bit bitter sweet, it constitutes my least favorite part of the assembly. Overall the radio is very durable but the battery pack appears to be the weakest to retain a good size and appearance. It only accepts standard batteries and is not a rechargeable pack - the plus side is it won't degrade and become an unusable proprietary design, the down side is you must remember to change and take out the old batteries regularly. Signal is comparable to other CBs when operating with the automotive adapter, however the handheld version is weak when inside an enclosed vehicle and is best operated outside a vehicle to avoid interference with the handheld antenna. Overall this is a very compact, lightweight solution for anyone using CB radios. It is built well, very easy to operate, and surprisingly reliable given its form.

I have used mine for a couple of years. I bought it pre owned and it is still working today. I use it in my Jeep and my UTV. Very easy to switch vehicles. I use a Midland 2442 magnet mount on my jeep . The antenna significantly increases the range. I use a firestik antenna on my side by side. Works well. Good clarity and a tough little radio!!!

I used my new 75-822 on my recent road trip and it worked awesome. I was estimating my range to be about a 1 mile radious from talking to people. The only issue I had with the radio was converting the display from showing the frequency to showing the channel number. This information is not in the manual and I had to find it on a forum. Hold the F button for 3 seconds and it will change.

Works as described. Came with everything but AA batteries. 6 regular and 8 regular or rechargeable. Hand unit is easy to use and read. Fits my hand, male, and the wife’s. NOAA channels come in great with just the rubber ducky antenna. Unit does not feel like a compromise. Would like a more durable battery case. Would like to use 18650 Li-ion batteries with the unit as they hold so much power.
