The T71VP3 is fully loaded with features to keep you and your group safe as well as supporting your communications needs while out on your big adventure, including Midland’s signature Weather Scan + Alert Technology. NOAA Weather Scan will automatically scan through 10 available weather band channels and will lock onto the strongest weather channel to alert you of severe weather updates. NOAA Weather Alert will sound an alarm indicating that there is a risk of severe weather in your area. This powerful radio also features micro USB charging capabilities, eVOX hands-free communication, 121 privacy codes, and silent operation.

Having never owned a 2-way radio I I had questions on set up. I found that i could not chat,or watch a video ,the only communication was by e-mail,I was frustrated. After spending two hours on you tube and reading the manual I am understanding the operation of the 2-way radios. Do I like the X-Talker, very much. I plan to use it On hiking and sking trips in the mountains out west. So far a range of 3 miles they have work well, I am pleased. I just wish I could of talked with a person from midland on set up.

Excellent Radio
I bought this radio to use when out trail riding. They are great little radios, have a strong signal with a ton of channels. They also hold a battery for a long time as well. I’d highly recommend getting a set.

Excellent Product
We bought these walkie talkies in 2021 and used them everyday on our farm until this winter 2022. My husband lost his walkie talkie somewhere on our property in the beginning of our winter as we had a huge snow storm. We had been trying to find another one but didn't have any luck as we are in Canada. Our snow has been melting these last 2 weeks and my husband found our missing walking talkie. I didn't think it would be any good as it was out all winter long with temps in the -30's C. After we dried the walking talkie and charged it up. It still works great. We couldn't believe it. What an awesome product. Thank you for making a great product that lasts.

Clear reception through the trees in the Cascades
I purchased these for my wife and I to use for tree-skiing in WA State and they work wonderfully. We did upgrade to the surveillance earpieces and I recommend that as well.

handy little radios
I have these in the truck with the base permanently mounted and charging all the time. We use these every time we are shooting with the drone in the desert or dealing with technical sections on the trail. It's great to be able to talk back to the truck. Also handy when we go out for a short hike away from base camp and want to be able to communicate.

No Range
Disappointed the radios won't communicate at 1 mile range. Even tried being 3 stories up on an outdoor balcony and the other radio in the backyard. Balcony would have line of sight to the other radio except for maybe two buildings and trees. We were on Channel 1 using high power and CTCSS. I don't expect 38 mile range or whatever is the advertised distance but was to at least be able to communicate within 2 miles.

Great Radio for Farming Operation!
On our farm we constantly need to be communicating between employees and these little radios give us access to one another at any time with a push of a button. We use these while harvesting crops, chopping silage, and in day to day activities. These radios are durable, get great reception, have clear audio, and hold their charge for a long time. Highly recommend.
