I use a hair mask about once a week and this week I started to use this Mielle hair masque. I have to say it did not leave my hair softer or more moisturized as most masks do. I even combed through it while leaving it in for awhile. I would have to say the conditioner (not Mielle) that I use everytime I wash my hair does a better job than this hair masque. My hair actually felt drier.

This hair masque is great. I've been using for about two years in combination with the shampoo and hair oil. I did a big chop at the time and now my hair is well below my waist. It also looks healthier and stronger. I only deducted a star because of the smell. Personally I wish it had a better smell BUT it does its job & I would recommend! It's also arguably affordable esp in combination with their other products.

After ankle surgery my hair was falling feeling dry for so much medicine in me. I bought this masks thinking I was going to once again start to take care of my hair since it had been through a lot. I put this mask on and oh my god the one thing I was trying to prevent from happening once again happened. When I was about to wash the hair mask off my hair felt so dry rough extremely tangled. The water started running down my hair and here it came so much more worse than before. My hair was falling like crazy. I couldn’t understand why was this happening. I proceeded to brush my hair next and more hair everywhere so hard to untangle it even after applying some hair oil and cream. I would love to give this a second chance but I’m terrified my hair will fall out again the amount it did. I understand hair falls normally daily. The amount of hair it fell off this time was not normal it was a lot. The one thing that I am trying to avoid happening again happened. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

I understand everyone’s hair is different and therefore will have a slightly different outcome but i don’t understand how anyone could have had a good experience using this. The “masque” smells like chemicals, some kind of cleaning product, which was the first red flag and should have been enough to keep me from using it. I nervously applied it to my thinning, dry, fragile hair, and it just didn’t feel right. Usually if a conditioner or masque is good you feel the softness right away but my hair felt very matted and rough. I should’ve read reviews before I purchased it so that’s my mistake. I just saw the 4.7 rating and because I’ve heard good things about the brand, assumed it must be a good mask — nope!! caused my hair to fall out and it’s more damaged than before. I’m so upset!!!!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE!

I wouldn’t use this if you have low porosity or fine/ thin hair. I have high porosity, a mix of 3b/c curly very thick long hair worked great for me. Strengthened my hair follicle and restored the elasticity in a lot of that were damaged from heat and wearing extensions. I used the whole container before writing this review.

Suffered significant damage to my hair elasticity following 2 appointments to receive a Dominican blowout forcing me to cut 7 inches of lifeless curls with some damage remaining! I have been using this mask for 3 weeks, and left it in for 24 hours yesterday. My curls haven’t looked this good in months and I now have hope in restoring my hairs health!
