Do not use directly on your pet or in a confined, unventilated space where pets are kept. Also, be sure to allow any surfaces that your pet may come into contact with to dry before your pet returns to the area. To be cautious, many pet owners prefer rinsing.

For small spills, blot up as much liquid as possible with a dry cloth, paper towel or sponge. Then pour a small amount of isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) on a sponge and blot up any remaining product. Be sure to do a colorfast test first to ensure carpet dye can accept this treatment. Our products go through many quality checks to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. What you've described is not something we would expect and I'm sharing your experience with our Quality Assurance Team.
