I had heard of Mucinex as a leader for cough and congestion so I was on board to try this when cold season started. Living in a big city there are viruses going around all of the time so it’s great to have this on hand. The pill form makes it easy to travel with and the 12 hour release is key.

This medication helped with my congestion quick fast. And lasted long I didn’t have to take another pill until needed and it was well after 12hrs.

When you’re sick and dealing with all that mucus and congestion, you just want something that actually helps you feel like you can breathe a little easier and get everything cleared out. I felt like Mucinex helped loosen everything up and made it easier to cough up mucus instead of feeling like everything was just sitting in my chest. It didn’t magically make the flu go away, but it definitely helped make the congestion more manageable while I was recovering. I also really liked that it lasts for 12 hours because when you’re already feeling miserable, the last thing you want to do is constantly keep track of when you can take more medicine. It was convenient to take and not have to worry about another dose for a while. My only complaint is that the pills are HUGE! You have to take two, and they are definitely not the easiest pills to swallow, especially when you’re sick and your throat might already be irritated. I wish they were a little smaller, but I still think the benefits outweigh that inconvenience. Overall, I would absolutely recommend 12-hour Mucinex if you’re dealing with chest congestion and thick mucus from the flu or a cold. It was helpful, convenient, and worth having on hand during cold and flu season. Just make sure you drink plenty of water with it, since staying hydrated can help loosen mucus too!
