submitted byRB Product Expert - 5 years agoBrand expertA: My husband and I both take medication for High Blood Pressure and we do take the 1200mg, 12 hour, time released Mucinex ALL the time when we are sick. We DO NOT take the one with a Decongestant in it. That can make your BP go up. However, everyone's medical conditions are different and you probably should call your Dr to make sure. We have talked to our Dr. and she approved it and recommends it.

A: We do not recommend that you take these products together. Both contain the active ingredient Guaifenesin, taking both goes beyond the appropriate dosage. It is important to look closesly at labels to for appropriate medicine use.

These were too large for me to swallow. They start dissolving almost immediately and left an awful taste on my tongue. I tried multiple times, but it would not work for me. I will have to try to the regular ones which are half the size. Wish I would have known how big they were before hand, rather than waste money.

This is the single best product to deal with chest congestion on the market. It doesn’t make your cold go away, it doesn’t suppress coughs, it doesn’t make body aches go away. Just make sure you know what you are trying to treat before you buy it.

My chest didn't feel all congested and it loosened all the mucus in my airway . The muffin ex tablet last all day so you only need one tablet every 12 hours. No more having to take something every 4 hours. I'm breathing so much better.

I won't take normal cold medicine because it just helps cover the symptoms. Mucinex is the ONLY thing I will take if I have chest or sinus congestion because it actually helps loosen up the mucus so I can get it out. The trick to this is making sure you're staying very hydrated. Also, keeping your air more humid since during the winter the air is so dry it sucks out a lot of moisture from your sinuses & body in general.
