These worked for the most part but I could not sleep at all. Also keep in mind I took these around 3PM, it’s now 4AM! (I don’t consume caffeine at all) 👎

I'm not reviewing this as a comparison to the old formula like most of the other reviewers because I never tried the old formula. It seems like most of the negativity comes from those who are upset about the change in product. Which i understand, if i were taking something for ages and suddenly its different, i would be upset too. However this pill has been a game changer for me. I have pcos and awful periods. I usually can't get out of bed for at least one day out of my cycle. I usually just tried toughing it out because most period relief pills are extremely expensive, so I would just hope regular old ibuprofen would help a bit, which it did. I came across this pill when I was looking for something else, and said, heck, for 4 bucks I'm gonna give it a shot. This ended up being the best 4 dollars I've ever spent in my life. Easiest period cycle I've ever had, no bedridden day, honestly, my whole cycle was just a minor inconvenience instead of being a life-changing issue like it always had been. Yes, there is caffeine in them, as it clearly states on the front of the packaging (i was surprised by how many reviewers were shocked by this revelation when it says it clearly on the box and bottle lol). The caffeine wasn't enough to keep me up at night but I also drink coffee and pop so I guess I have a little bit of a tolerance to caffeine over someone who doesn't consume it at all. I dont consume ungodly amounts of caffeine, usually a medium dunkin iced coffee and a can maybe two of pop a day, so i guess I didnt think my caffeine tolerance was that bad, but the caffeine in these didnt really affect me negatively, and I did take a dose before bed one of the days in my cycle. I do highly recommend this product, but you also have to find what works for you. I'm sure the caffeine won't be good for everyone but thats why its important to review the ingredients when picking a new product. My target had a bunch of these with expiration dates almost 3 years away so i ended up buying 5 bottles to store away in case they do change the formula back to the old one (which from the sounds of all the reviews, I wouldn't be surprised if they do). So for what this product is, it was a miracle for me, and I cannot recommend it enough. But if you have a negative experience with caffiene I wouldn't recommend it.
The old version (with purple caplets) is generic Pamprin (Multi Symptom), this version is generic Midol!!

I have not tried this, but was just going to buy more and realized it changed based on the reviews. I did some research, hope this helps! 💜 (please thumbs up, so people are able to find this info easily 🙂) The old version is a generic version of Pamprin (specifically the Multi Symptom version of Pamprin). The name brand does have 💜 purple 💜 pills as well. My Target has the name brand Pamprin Multi Symptom for $7.49 for 40 caplets. I see DG also has it, but not in stock in my area, $4 for 32 caplets. Amazon has a generic brand called Quality Choice which is $5.99 for 20 caplets. These were the only 3 versions of this specific blend that I was able to find. In my case, the name brand is the best option, but it may be different depending on what’s available near you! Active Ingredients: Acetaminophen 500 mg Pamabrom 25 mg Pyrilamine maleate 15 mg

Miss the old formula/purple pills!!! That formula worked SO much better than this & obviously everyone else who has left a review feels the same. Not sure why this change was made but please bring the old one back! Until then, for anyone reading, DG sells the one we like with the pamabrom (NOT caffeine) for the same price… and the pills are purple💜

If you're a woman you'll understand, I used to use these pills religiously when they were in the blue packaging and were a purple pill. They worked wonders, the only period medication that actually helped with my cramps. My cramps are so bad that I usually can't get out of bed for the first two days of may. So to find something like that was a miracle in itself, ever since they switched to the white pills I noticed almost no difference whatsoever in my pain level. Whatever they did when they reformulated these are not the same. They're garbage, placebo pills. So up yours target. Will not be repurchasing

While they work to relieve my daughter's cramps, she now realized (after not be able to sleep) that they have caffeine. So disappointed because the old ones did not--the reason I bought them. I didn't realize that these had changed or I wouldn't have purchased. She can only take them first thing in the morning.
Dont buy!

These pills used to work wonders for me and now that they’ve changed the formula they don’t do anything but keep me up and make me jittery. Good job ruining a good thing! HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND.

Doesn’t work like the old formula. I noticed they changed the bottle but after a night of no sleep I looked more into & it has caffeine now. I have extreme insomnia already and it does nothing for my cramps. I had something that was working and now I’m back to finding a new formula that works. Don’t make this harder on women bring the old formula back!

I would not recommend this if you want a good night sleep . I have literally been up all night and I’m writing this at almost 4 AM. I have even doubled my normal dose of melatonin and nothing .

I am very disappointed that Target discontinued the old ones that were purple! Those worked so well and were a more affordable price! I don’t like caffeine and my body doesn’t handle it well, but I was in so much pain that I had to get some medicine. I took it, and couldn't sleep all night! My body was very shaky and I was feeling anxious, and now I will be so tired at work since I didn’t sleep!

They changed their formula and added caffeine. Now every time I take these I have horrible insomnia. It took me a few cycles to realize what was keeping me up all night, and then I realized it’s these pills. I am going to have to switch to the name brand because this is awful.

I don't know what i'd do without it. This medicine eliminate all discomfort from my periods. The only problem is that when it's not working, you WILL know. I find it only lasts around 6-7 hours and once that period ends, you will feel it. So what I do is set a timer on my phone or watch and when the time comes near, take a second dose (and never exceeding the maximum doses the box says you shouldnt exceed). If I have pain at night, the caffeine is a problem so I wish Up&Up offered a caffeine free variety for night use. One might say "just take regular tylenol acetaminophen" but I really need the antihistamine aspect too lol. I thought it was interesting the way there was a cotton ball inside the container when first opening it. Apparently this is to reduce the medicine from shaking around during storage and transit.

Works well, and the price-point is great. I didn’t love the drowsiness, it was a bit intense for me. I’ll switch to taking these at night.

PLEASE bring back the caffeine-free version. This used to be my go-to. I normally do OK with caffeine during the day, but something about the caffeine added to menstrual relief products (the amount, I suppose) makes me too shaky. Now I have to go back to buying the brand name.
